    I worked at GSMA full-time

    Pros

Great place to learn about the mobile industry and the their focus on key issues affecting their business and the world. So, whatever your position at the company is, dedicate yourself to absorbing as much knowledge as you can... and move on. In the US, lots of capable and good people who do an excellent job of making the commercial arm the success. Two very competent CEOs. So much potential to make great things happen for the industry and the world.

    Cons

The gap identified by employees year on year is lack of skilled managers who can build a trusting and cohesive operating culture. GSMA is rife with politics.

    Advice to Management

You have the privilege to develop one of the most influential and valuable organizations in the world....

I worked at GSMA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people in an ever changing industry. The Foundation really has done a great job.

Many new executives making needed changes

    Cons

Leadership by committee...isn't leadership at all. Some senior executives fail to make necessary decisions. Politics abound (though are much better than they were a year ago). No real business outside the events...most activities are playing at business and strategy and don't accomplish anything. Horrible title structure making it difficult to understand who is responsible or authorized to make decisions.

    Advice to Management

Clean up the organization. Get the regions in order. Eliminate under performing teams and programmes.
