      Legacy Tech with Micromanaging CEO

      Pros

      Work from home.... like every other company. Some good people working in the trenches.

      Cons

      Legacy technology repeatedly rebranded with the latest buzz words. The company describes itself as a "tech start-up", but it's been in business since 2007 with every aspect of the company being actively micromanaged by the CEO. There is no on-boarding process for new employees. There is no marketing strategy with the exception of the CEO creating LinkedIn posts to be shared by the employees. Pointing out where improvements can be made quickly gets you labeled as bad apple.

      Incredibly talented engineers who work well together and are given the freedom to innovate Leadership team cares about making a great product and taking care of employees Great place to be if you are passionate about solving important and difficult customer problems

      If you need a ton of structure and love a lot of meetings, this may not be the right fit for you

      Pros

      The most rewarding job of my 34 years as a software engineer. Great people to work with. No inflated egos or toxic personalities. Management is 100% transparent and always shares the good, the bad and the ugly. Fortunately it's all been really good lately. Everyone, all the way up to the CEO, instills a culture of integrity, respect and enthusiasm. The problems our software solves and solutions we are building are interesting and challenging. We have so much more that we want to do. The potential for this company is huge now that we're able to grow.

      Cons

      As most startups, we've had some growing pains, but the pros have always overshadowed the rough spots.
