I have been working at Hamilton Beach full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Fantastic people to work with.
Good benefits and pay with flex hours.
Retention is fantastic, most everyone I work with has a long history with the company.
Management is willing to listen and take employee suggestions to heart.
Opportunities to grow in positions as well as promotion from within.

    Cons

I have yet to find any complaints. The culture is a little older but as I mentioned, attrition isn't a problem here.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work and continue to maintain that open communication with employees. It means a lot.

I worked at Hamilton Beach part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

75% off all appliances with employee discount.

    Cons

Hostile work environment due to a female manager that has been allowed to continue employment there despite having several employees and temps complain about how abrasive and rude she is. Unless you are part of her or any of the people they inexplicably bring in from a halfway house, don't expect to ever get full time hours or move up to team lead--which by the way is as far as one can hope to move up to in that office.

    Advice to Management

Quite the favoritism and quit allowing management to militantly chat everyone wrapping up a call to jump back on the phone,

I worked at Hamilton Beach (More than 3 years)

    Pros

We received gifts products to test at home to be more knowledgeable about the products. They would reward you for great KPI or numbers. They were always good at promotion friends over people who had experience or degrees. T

    Cons

You could be qualified with experience and hold a bachelors or masters degree and not get promoted over felons that were on probation. It seemed to get promoted you had to be a felon working on probation. Not the example that others needed. There was a lot of favoritism and the rules did not apply to all.

    Advice to Management

Promotion should be based on experience or qualification and not based on your record or who your friends are.

I have been working at Hamilton Beach full-time

    Pros

overall good people to work with, people are hard working care about the business. Employees have a great camaraderie.

    Cons

NOT family friendly, Management plays favorites. Marketing is dominated by people with no family obligations who have no respect for others and upper management doesn't allow outside voices. Brand names used to be great however management has let Walmart dictate them into bargain basement ...with no insight in how to recover. Old systems in place, no work life balance

    Advice to Management

Open eyes to the brands decline and the bias in mid tier management. Realize how lies and mistrust are rampant

I worked at Hamilton Beach full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Used to be a great place to work 12 years ago

    Cons

Corporate leadership is only out for their own bonuses. Don't care how many employees they put out of work to get it. If you are a senior manager you can get rich, if not it is only a matter of time. They senior management has NO vision what so ever, they turned a great engineering/conssumer products/innovation company and turned it into a shell

    Advice to Management

Stop thinking about your bonused and think about the long term viability of your business model
