I worked at Health Management Systems full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Decent pay and benefits

    Cons

Extremely poor leadership, stereotypical "corporate" problems with politics valued over performance, terrible work-life balance expected for salaried employees below the VP level, image-focused culture

    Advice to Management

Hold directors and executives accountable for performance, focus less on outward appearance of success (e.g., facility amenities, employee "engagement") and more on retaining skilled workers and balancing workloads

    Pros

I find it difficult to find a pro. I will say that if you can make it here, there isn't much out there that can get you down.

    Cons

There is no recourse for a bad manager. They can lie, be subjective and play favorites and literally no one cares. Then you are asked why you are not engaged. Leaving every day feeling beat down and sitting in the parking lot trying to get up the will to walk in is no way to live.

    Advice to Management

Do not be subjective and leave your petty and too personal likes at home. Let performance speak for itself

    Pros

Was great first internship experience, the people are great, all really nice and willing to help out when needed. Everyone was very knowledgeable and helpful and made sure us, the interns, got the help we needed. Hours were fairly flexible, could come however early or late as long as we completed 8 hours everyday.

    Cons

There seems to be a little of a disconnect between the different offices. Also, most people didn't seem interested in the company itself but rather the people.

I worked at Health Management Systems full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    My co workers were nice

    Cons

Horrible management, favoritism obvious, lack of experienced managers, rules change constantly, and pay for jobs is not equal. Training does not take place.
Place is a total beat down, have never seen such poor employee retention

    Advice to Management

Your employees are more qualified than your managers, people come on board and leave within 60 days, once they discover that having HMS on their resume immediately makes future companies wary of hiring. Hourly employees make 30% les than similar companies
