"Horrible Place to Work (Very Toxic Work Environment)"

I have been working at Hendrickson full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Unfortunately, no pros to talk about here.

    Cons

    1) Very dishonest people (management), they would make you promises in the first place and change their words later.
    2) No work-life balance (They don't even like to talk about flexible work schedule).
    3) The upper management at Hendrickson is being run by bullies and they talk to people crazy (screaming at people is a norm here), it is a very toxic work environment.
    4) If you want to work here be prepared to get pushed to your limits frequently.
    5) No respect for employees from the management side and Senior Engineers.
    6) A lot of Micromanagement.
    6) Zero career opportunities.
    7) Below average compensations & benefits. No bonus and only 10 paid vacation days upon hire regardless of your previous years of experience or higher PTO with your previous company.
    8) Very old school culture and work environment.
    9) They don't value higher education or more scientific approaches for solving complex problems and bright ideas (from younger engineers). Simply, the management doesn't like any change and you would hear this from them frequently "We have been doing it this way for a long time and it works".
    9) Don't expect to learn new and cutting-edge technology/engineering knowledge in this company as they are working on a +120 years old technology (Passive suspension systems).

    Advice to Management

Be honest with your employees and keep your words. Also treat your employees with respect rather than pushing them to the limits. Change your old school mentality and provide your employees with a flexible work schedule. At the last but not the least, you should count new employee's previous years of experience with other companies and provide them with a competitive PTO instead of offering them with only 10 paid vacation days (For my case, my PTO was downgraded from 15 days with my previous company to only 10 days with Hendrickson).

    Pros

No mandatory overtime , but you got to know the right people to work overtime.

    Cons

They hire kids to be area coordinators. Most are bullys and talk to people crazy. Very unprofessional to hire kids to manage kids. Never work at a place were management cusses like this before. They show so much favoritism it's pathetic!

    Advice to Management

Send supervisors and lead to management classes. They need to learn how to treat people. They cuss at you and talk to you any kind of way.

    Pros

    Work with extremely smart people.
Company has competitive 401k and Pension Plan.
    Above average vacation time.

    Cons

    There are cliques and favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Don't always ignore the creative ideas of junior engineers and co-ops. Sometimes senior engineers appear to be extremely risk adverse in terms of 'trying something new'.
