Technical Account Manager

Being a woman in tech, I only recently started advocating for myself at work about advancement opportunities. Because of this I wanted to ask this question to my male counterparts. When you have 1:1's with your direct reports and talk about career growth / aspirations what is your managers’ response typically? I’d like to gauge how my experience (negative) differs from others. For instance are you met with blockades, enthusiasm, dread, etc?

Management is all over the place no trainers, no one training knows the clients. If you are African American don’t apply they will mistreat you ! Company is going down and will not be around for long. There is never any work !! CTO doesn’t like black women and CEO doesn’t know what’s going on in her company

No direction, no respect, and zero effort in trying to improve culture. Simply, they just don’t care about anyone. Husband and wife run company and constantly make weird decisions that don’t make sense to anyone.

Easy job, management could use some work

Jan 26, 2022 - Customer Happiness Engineer in Buffalo, NY
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

-Provide the technology and training layout for it's employees to become successful - Atmosphere was very welcoming and open. Felt like you could ask anyone for help - Staff is very diverse, management is very encouraging

    Cons

    - They don't always make the most effective choices in who leads the training, leaving new hires not properly trained -Constantly changed training program, which current employees could see was becoming less and less thorough which lead to new hires making more mistakes or not being as confident when doing the work. -Rushed through training to quickly get new hires working to help with the workload, back fired because new hires would work slower due to lack of training. Older employees had to stop their work to help others, slowing down production even more.
