I have been working at IBA part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The job is amazing for entry level engineers. Working with a lot of different esoteric technologies.

    Cons

Some management is pretty bad. There are regular late night shifts.

    Advice to Management

If your employees are extremely hard workers, don't take advantage of it by loading them to the point that they snap.

I have been working at IBA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Relocation assistance, but this is only an attempt to keep employees up to 2yrs. Most sites have to hire from halfway around the world just to find someone willing to take the job.

    Cons

Pay: Below Nation averages and little raises, 2% is usually what to expect.
Benefits: Health insurance(Aetna) cost are outrageous. Increases about 20%/annually. Don't get sick.
Schedule: Rotating shifts, night shifts. Why go to school to do manual labor at 1am?

    No promotions available.
Basically, IBA hires degreed engineers to grease equipment, run cable, power cycle electronics, push buttons, and clean.
No exposure to standard engineering tools, only mechanical tools like screw drivers. If you want to get real engineering experience IBA US is not the place.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring engineers for technician roles.

I have been working at IBA full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The work environment is very laid back. Daily day in day out duties are fairly easy, except when there are major downtimes. If you are content with performing the same tasks all the time, this job is very stable.

    Cons

Management changes are often, so employees constantly report to a new boss. With a new managers, come different expectations, therefore goals are not constant and obtainable. No tasks are assigned and priorities are not set by management. The operations of the site is basically left up to the senior engineers to run, as management do not set goals.

    Advice to Management

Lead by example. Telling people to do something when you refuse to do it yourself do not earn people's respect. Because you are in a higher position of authority does not mean you understand more. Sit back and seek advice of more senior engineers before you rush into decisions, or lack thereof.

I have been working at IBA full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good Benefits, time off and sick time.
A lot of opportunity for advancement based on performance.
Challenging job that affects those in need.
Most weeks are 40 hour weeks, not over, but not under either.

    Cons

Job can allow burnout if you don't manage your time well.

    Advice to Management

Allow lightly higher staffing level on site to better build up teams for promotions and growth.
