    Pros

It's all about the people and the opportunities I have been given. It truly is a family and I love being a part of it. It doesn't hurt to work for a stable and successful company either with great products....

    Cons

Difficulties with delegation from time to time

I worked at ICONICS (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The people there are great. It's a great place to learn a lot and experience new technology. You get admin access to your machine, which most company does not allow. You can install any legal software you wish to try.

    Cons

It's high stress because there are not enough people and the big boss is very demanding. He can change decisions at a last minute notice and throw out your hard work for the past week.

    Advice to Management

Attend some Dale Carnegie training. Trust is a two way street; you have to start trusting your employees for them to trust you back and build a better company.

I have been working at ICONICS full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

All of the employees are wonderful people. There's a great camaraderie here, and we have fun at company events. The products produced are some of the best in the industry.

    Cons

Upper management doesn't seem to trust anyone. They micromanage. No middle management can make a decision because upper management is so hard to get a hold of, and if they make a decision without talking to upper management they can easily find that decision reversed. Upper management also tends to make snap decisions based on old data, and will not listen to rebuttal arguments with current data. Although the technology exists to allow many of the employees to work from home they are not allowed, even during blizzards. Salaried employees are not given any leeway as far as hours - if they have to come in late one morning they are expected to make up those hours, however if they have to stay late one night working a project they are not allowed to come in late the next day.

    Advice to Management

Take the management class you had your employees take. Trust your middle managers to do their jobs and give them more independence. You do not have to do everything yourself - that's why you have employees. If you don't trust someone, let them go and hire another person you can trust more.

    I worked at ICONICS full-time

    Pros

The other employees are all wonderful and smart.

    Cons

The management is extremely micro-managing. (The CFO personally had to review every individual's expense reports... its 75 person company). The owners are cheap. One year for Christmas, they gave us all dog calendars... of the owner's dogs.
