I have been working at IMRIS full-time for less than a year

    Pros

2017 is a great time for IMRIS. The company is moving forward with a lot of initiatives and they are hiring the right people to help the company go from a good Med Tech company to an INCREDIBLE Med Tech company!

    Cons

I would have to say the only con is that the company had some negative financial dealings a few years back, but they have recovered from those 100 fold!

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing! IMRIS is on the path to continue crafting the world's most advanced hybrid surgical theatres to elevate the medical experience... as well as the human experience!

I worked at IMRIS full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Dedicated and talented co-workers Good workplace benefits

    Cons

Poor project management Incompetent senior management, especially HR

    Advice to Management

Was a 10+ year-old company that was still operating with a start-up mentality before it was bought over: project managers do not have experienced/track record in running million dollars project, poor financial/project planning, and have no clear vision of the project/product. Leadership is poor and HR standards is very low. The company has grown and management mentality that works for a 10-person company is no longer adequate. Please hire people who are competent for the position.

I worked at IMRIS full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Company was gutted during chapter 11. The morale is so low, I'd say it was non-existent. The new guard came onboard and gutted the company even further. I wouldn't recommend working here if you were unemployed and needed a job.

    Cons

Smoke and mirrors, smoke and mirrors, smoke and mirrors. You'd think a company selling such an enormously expensive piece of equipment (compared to the competitors) would provide white glove treatment to their customers. Not even close. Every customer that fell for the smoke and mirrors pitch ends up very angry and out $10mil. A joke of a company--new leadership just trying to find a taker in this pig of a company.

    I worked at IMRIS

    Pros

Neurosurgeons embraced the technology. Patients were positively influenced.

    Cons

Amateurs all around the organization all the way to the top. A miserable experience. I wouldn't recommend this company to anyone, for any role.

    Advice to Management

They don't need advice. They already know all the answers.

I worked at IMRIS full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

This company has great technology and a great product overall. A pro-employee environment generally. Easy work-life balance in all areas of the company as no one needs to work too hard except customer service. Employees are just average but nice to work with. Benefits are very low-cost to employees and pay is generally higher than average to get people to work there.

    Cons

Basically, no one buys the product. Too expensive and too many problems with the final product. The company abused vendors with its cash problems for way too long until it eventually filed for bankruptcy. The company does not pay its vendors, and not sure if it will after bankruptcy (now called Deerfield Imaging). Vendors no longer believe they will get paid. Will take a long to the rebuild those relationships, if possible at all. Not off to the right foot. Management over promises and under delivers consistently.

Executives are driven, energetic and personable Great work life balance

    Cons

Old culture of reactive, rather than proactive management, focusing on short term goals still persists despite great effort of new management to turn things around

I have been working at IMRIS full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The laid back work environment, cafeteria, the fitness center/showers, the flexible schedule, and above all, health and life benefits, and the thought of the good outcome of the patients that get treated with out equipment.

    Cons

Lack of direction and accountability. There is no real managed structure in certain departments where structure is everything. The leadership is more worried about getting things done quick rather than doing it right and making sure it's well thought out and documented properly. Documentation needs major attention.

    Advice to Management

Be more proactive in holding your employees accountable for the output of quality deliverables and the time it takes to reach specific goals. All departments need attention in this area.
