    Pros

The people. From associates to directors, everyone is solid.

401 K - the good thing about them being stuck in the 80's is their solid 401K plan.

    Cons

No female leadership. Marketing (women) are expected to do all the work for National Sales reps but get none of the credit or pay.

Not willing to cultivate young talent. No growth opportunity - I had to seek out a mentor, teach myself sales techniques and when I improved my business by 15% YOY and was over-budget (one of the few to do this with the entire company being down) I was moved into another department because a call center came in and took my job. There was plenty of growth opportunity on the National Sales team (which I expressed interest in) but that was divided up among the existing male staff. They do not recognize young talent, especially if you are female.

Stuck in the old brick and mortar big box model with systems that cannot sustain e-comm growth.

    Advice to Management

Change your 1980's ways of doing business and of treating women or get left behind.

    Pros

Offices are ok and free merchandise

    Cons

Their benefits changed in 2017 and employees pay most of the premiums. Expectations are to be there early and stay late even though working hours are 8 - 5.

    Advice to Management

This company is a fast paced and loads of work without the necessary staffing. It is a toxic environment and everyone is reminded by senior management that NC is an at will state and you can get fired for anything. That is their mindset to just "fire" people and their issues will be resolved. They need managers that will support their staff as well as grow their employees. Treat everyone with respect and don't be very visible with favoritism....it brings down the morale.

    Cons

BEWARE of Accounting Department as management there is very unprofessional, unapproachable, controlling, vindictive and manipulative. No room to grow.

Get training in interpersonal skills and management skills to better deal with being in an authoritative position.

    Pros

Most of the people who work here are nice. Benefits are actually good.

    Cons

No training what so ever so be prepared to have to learn everything yourself. Management is very out of touch and runs the company the same as 10 years ago. If you are looking for a place that you will grow, look else where almost no growth opportunities. Also the pay is far below market value.

    Advice to Management

Take the time to listen to your employees, Train and invest in them and they will be more productive.

I worked at Implus full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very casual interview process and work environment, fairly good benefits, and Implus is a good opportunity to see how a business operates. No micromanagement (or management). A good place to gain experience for a resume, but not somewhere you want to stay.

    Cons

Upper management is a clique and nobody cares about lower level employees. The company is a boy's club. They will see any suggestion of improvement as a threat.

Benefits are good but salary is very low.

The company will never close and expects everyone to to be at work, even on ice or snow days. If you do not come into work you lose PTO. People have totaled their cars coming into work but the policy hasn't changed.

Very high turnover rate, only a few people stay long-term. Mostly everyone who works there is frustrated but nothing will change.

Extremely unorganized- there are no processes or procedures in place. The higher ups have no idea how to properly run a business and they lose money because of a lack of willingness to invest in tools to better organize the company.

Very unprofessional environment- upper management often yells, slams doors, and swears frequently. They also have no idea how to run or grow a business. The entire company essentially flies by the seat of their pants instead of setting goals for growth. As a low level employee, it seemed that no one in management had any idea what they were doing.

No chance of growth or moving up.

    Advice to Management

Management knows what needs to be improved but doesn't care. Clearly everyone who has posted a review here is staying the same thing. Listen to your employees and try to improve the company- otherwise, people will keep leaving.

Advice to potential employees: do not bother taking a job here if you are looking for somewhere to learn or grow. It can be a good place for a resume booster but it is not a place you want to stay at more than 1-2 years.

I worked at Implus (More than a year)

    Pros

Great stepping stone into your career. Great working atmosphere amongst your peers. You will learn the basic structure of a corporate business.

    Cons

The management is not concerned with growing the business. They want to keep their employees in their positions even if their managers have outdated skills. The management is extremely cliquish and will approach advise as a challenge to their authority. They will fire you for causes that had no prior warning and without any notice (even though they tell you in the interview that you are fired for bad actions if addressed on multiple occasions). The pay is horrible too! Again, this is a great place to start if you can't find a job. But I would not pass on any other opportunities while there. Because they will definitely pass on you with no remorse. Lastly, they will passively blackball you. Basically, on the day you're fired they will make clear that if your future employer contacts them, they will inform them that you performance "needs help."

    Advice to Management

Look at employees for what they can provide for the company, not what relationships you've built with them. Also, you're a multimillion dollar company, there's no need to maliciously disadvantage an individual making thousands (and with your salary, the lesser of the thousands) by relocating them and firing them without warning and not allowing their experience at Implus to reflect positively on their resume for future jobs.

    good health insurance, decent product

    Cons

difficult to advance, huge wage discrepancies between upper management and lower management, poor hr department

    Advice to Management

you get what you pay for. many capable employees but poor leadership makes it difficult to advance and earn a median wage for your role. high turnover should should be able to tell the story clearly.
