I hate it here. I have never worked in such a toxic place. The owner claims we are all a family but has created a negative workplace. He is either lying about the environment he wants or is unaware of what the managers underneath him have done with his lab. One of the managers is on medication and is always calling the lab and wasting everyone’s time for literal hours rambling about nothing at all in the name of “personal development” of the staff which has many times left them crying. One of the supervisors is a cunning bully. One hated the job so much they took a pay cut to step down. Another supervisor hates his job and is about to quit. Another one is looking to move to Melbourne. Every week we are given a list of errors we have made and management forces us to sign them and and they are filed in our personal files. These files have been used to fire someone because one of the managers did not like him personaly. There is lots of overtim and it is normal and management doenot care about what it does to us. The roster keeps chainging and we are not allowed to complain. People are too afraid to take their breaks. The lab makes money by squeezing us for work. The clocks are slightly different so management can trick us into a few extra minutes of work for free. They think we have not seen this. Only the managers favourites are allowed to have a regular shift during the day. The rest of us have to work nights or early mornings as is seen fit. We are forced to accept shifts that end at 3:00AM if they run on time. Any complaints are ignored. The notfavourites staff just have to deal with these shifts because the favourites get the good regular shifts. People are sick of this and they are apethatic and listless and don’t care anymore.
