    I worked at Insulectro full-time

    Pros

I worked here for about 3 years and if it wasn't because I had to relocate, I would've retired at this company. The owners were always so passionate about their employees and made us feel like family. I was surprised to see the amount of long term employees at this company, but after working there for 3 years, I understood why. The amount of training and experience that I received from working there has definitely helped me in my career. This was a fun company to work for that had great benefits! If you want to work for an amazing company, I would highly recommend them!

    Cons

    Sad that I left!

    Advice to Management

Great job, keep up the great work!

I worked at Insulectro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

the people are very nice and fun, the family owners really do care about their employees and are very accessible

    Cons

hours can be long, very short learning curve, super high paced (hit the ground running), benefits are the bare minimum, only 5 paid holidays, no jury duty time off, at times can be very overworked and had to skip through several lunches and stayed late. very monotonous, absolutely no room for upward mobility.

    Advice to Management

You were the nicest owners/CEOs to work for, but these guys give a lot of effort and time into the company and they need more paid time off (nothing btwn New Year's and Memorial Day)

    Pros

I guess the only pro I have is that there is a Friday at the end if the work week.

    Cons

Finding good staff and being able to keep then before management terminates them.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Insulectro full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

The owners, the people, the customers and the suppliers make for a great work environment. Insulectro has invested in the business through people, facilities and new products.

    Cons

Work life balance is a challenge. There is always a lot of work to do and the resources are kept to a minimum. People are willing to pitch in and help whenever asked and come together as a team.

I have been working at Insulectro full-time

    Pros

A few caring, intelligent employees. Free coffee. Good work-life balance for some departments.

    Cons

Company's investment in new computer system has ironically bogged down the entire process for order entry, material management, and warehouse processing. (Purchased a shell.) Sales slowing, and Operational costs rising, so there is a lot of finger pointing, while trying to sort things out. Consequently, lots of stress, and definitely not a 9 to 5. New hires are not adequately trained, and this has a stressful impact on all departments. Morale at its lowest at this time -- with recent lay-offs, and still trying to figure out how to maintain and cope.

    Advice to Management

Don't be afraid to get comments and opinions from all of your employees. Please put an end to a lot of the time wasting politics within the lower ranks.

I have been working at Insulectro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Learn about a supply-chain and distribution business hands-on.

    Cons

Management is extremely old-fashioned and will use intimidation tactics and force to get what they want. Also, most people in the company are either backstabbing or spineless. The CEO is the spoiled son of Insulectro's co-founder, and as such, acts with privilege but little tact. Insulectro is a very sink or swim environment. New graduates or even mid-20 year olds would probably do better at a startup. The salary, PTO, and benefits here are also extremely low-quality. Manufacturing is also a shrinking industry which has management in a constant survival state; they will cut costs wherever they can (including your job if need be).

    Advice to Management

The company needs a real ceo.
