I worked at Jean Machine full-time

    Pros

    - Trusted by managers
    - Managed the sales associates on duty
    - Often had choice of shifts
    - Was allowed to offer discounts in order to help maximize sales

    Cons

    - Commission was not as high of a payoff as management was leading it on to be
    - Constant change of management

    Advice to Management

I would suggest that there be more consistency between management

I have been working at Jean Machine part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Discounts on name brand clothing. Great coworker atmosphere. Depending on the store, group outings and birthday celebrations. Good updates music to work to.

    Cons

Having DMs speak to you rudely or yell at you about sales quotas every 5 minutes via email chat, phone calls, video surveillance or spontaneous dropbys

    Advice to Management

Office positive feedback instead of creating hostile situations. If you're are going to schedule a PT sales associate with FT schedules from the start. Give them the correct contract.

I have been working at Jean Machine full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Great people
Know your name, you are more than a number
    Decent discount, great products
    Learn lots of info
Customers are great, lots of return clients, become your friends

    Cons

Stressful; personal budgets are in place but no change in retail pattern are taken into consideration (slowed traffic, less customers, etc). Lots of other things to do besides sell, sometimes impossible to balance customers and tasks.

Pay; ok only if you sell enough, needs to be less focused on commission since retail shopping patterns are different

Reviews; heavily based on black and white numbers and not looked on other operation skills (visual, reports, organization, etc) that are equally important to the business

    Advice to Management

Don't take advantage of those who are loyal to you. Just because someone doesn't scream and shout to get what they want (pay, store issues ,etc) doesn't mean they don't deserve it.

Remember that just because someone may not sell you as much as their budget said they should, doesn't mean they aren't contributing to your business in other ways.

I have been working at Jean Machine full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Family atmosphere, great training, great people and higher management, very friendly team members

    Cons

Long hours but only if you require and if you need and perform. Manager holds you accountable sometimes to the extreme

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you are doing and motivate your people to get the best out of them. Regional manager is very strict but she's very nice person to talk to if you have a problem. Sometimes she's more available than my store manager
