I worked at Jimlar (Less than a year)

    Pros

great benefits, great people, discounts and sample sales, attempting to make it a better work environment. health insurance and leaves are generous.

    Cons

management, no room for growth, there is a very real possibility that your position will be outsourced with little to no notice, compensation is low

I worked at Jimlar full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Wonderful design community who really care about eachother!

    Cons

Since being bought by another larger corporation, the internal values changes and ALL became focussed on the bottom line. Whereas prior, it was all about the people and a very family oriented family business.

    Advice to Management

Try at times to stick up for design-the hardest working sector of the company! Look at your sales people-and be sure that they are giving design enough respect! Designers have lives too. Its not fair that sales can make requests beyond the final hour and expect design to work as late as necessary to come up with the goods. Respect the calendar!

I worked at Jimlar full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

You will learn a lot, you will travel a lot. There's a very diverse group of employees (ages, races, nationalities, etc) and a friendly group of designers. Pay was great and benefits were good.

    Cons

Lots of travel (this is both a pro and a con), lots of meetings, not easy to move up.

    Advice to Management

Allow people to move to different brands (should they request) after proving themselves for years on another brand.
