    Pros

    Extensive training
    Working with team of peers

    Cons

Some centers we would go to had low communication and high turnover, but that isn't Jumpstart's fault

    Pros

    team members
    you get feedback pretty often

    Cons

    not transparent enough
higher ups seems not to know a lot about inner city kids and it reflects in the curriculum we are given

    Advice to Management

take the time to learn about the kids you are trying to help. It will go a long way in helping end the education gap.

I worked at Jumpstart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Working with kids, follow lesson plans, relationships formed with teachers and staff

    Cons

Shifts are in the morning so if you're not a morning person it could suck for you. You also have to be full time students

    Advice to Management

Nothing, they are really cool . If you like working with kids and don't mind low income communities go for it

I worked at Jumpstart part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Fun people to work around, minimal base hours (balancing with full time school courseload), lots of opportunities to add more hours at home

    Cons

Hard to miss a session, not a lot of hours, quite a bit of training going into it, but they are really a great company to work for despite all this!

I worked at Jumpstart (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people! I don't know how they do it, but the UCLA branch always seems to hire le crème de le crème.

    Cons

You have to arrange your classes to their schedule, unlike other jobs where they accommodate your class schedule. Also, there are very few opportunities for promotions so that's a con.

    Advice to Management

Mangers are great, but I'd recommend that they take complaints from students more seriously. They seem to robotic at times.

I worked at Jumpstart (More than a year)

    Pros

I loved working with the children. We had a really great team. I enjoyed helping the teachers lower the ratio of support each child.

    Cons

There were no downsides. Some advice. Manage your hours you don't want to fall behind because if you do it's really hard to catch up.

    Advice to Management

Send out hour trackers so that people can stay on track with their hours.
