I worked at Krystal full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Plenty of hours, plenty of ability to advance if you can work at least 50 hours minimum as an Assistant general manager.

    Cons

    Extremely high turnover rates
    Food theft
    Micromanaging
Too many required hours of managers
    Horrible work life balance
    Low pay
Failing equipment and poorly built stores

    Advice to Management

Please spend money on retaining employees by offering better pay, and updated well built facilities. The north Florida market has amazing potential but without the money invested to progress it will fail in the future. Try honestly polling your employees to see real time feedback!

    Pros

Like any food service job your experience fluctuates depending on the team the GM builds. If it's a strong team, work your job is easy; if not, it will be hard. I stayed so long because we built a great team and had a great environment.

    Cons

I will say upper management has had a harder time holding on to their jobs, especially since the new buy-out. I have seen A LOT of District Supervisors come and go. The District Supervisors are under constant pressure to make changes, and because of it, I have seen the District Supervisors get rid of some really good GM's, only later to be let go themselves.

I worked at Krystal part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

If you love customer service, fast food is a unique way to exhibit it. You get to meet new people and repeat customers become like family. It is a lot more work than people who have never worked fast food may expect

    Cons

There is always the challenge of facing unruly customers. It's even more difficult when you work with a team that gets frustrated due to unruly customers and the pressure of fast production. It is up to you manage yourself in the most professional fashion and always remember you are in field that provides service.
