Always bad apples in every bunch

    Advice to Management

Be strong enough to let go of those who are holding us back

I have been working at Labcyte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people here are bright. They are friendly. The lead, Harry, has an incredible technical knowledge of each project. I've been at companies where the lead/manager barely know anything about certain projects. Harry is very detailed oriented.

    Cons

Some of the technology is a little dated but remember the emphasis is creating scientific instruments not bleeding edge software development.

    Advice to Management

More spicy and salty snakes (they run out) and less Diet Dr. Pepper (it never runs out)

I worked at Labcyte full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The people in the manufacturing team was great to work with and really friendly. The product seem to be interesting at first but in reality it was very simple.

    Cons

There were some individuals that were reluctant to change and couldn't take an educated decision based on manufacturing data. Last minute customization of the product by the sales team where not communicated promptly to the manufacturing team.

    Advice to Management

There seem to be a disconnect between marketing, sales, and production that made it really complicated to forecast the manufacturing build plan and any continuous improvement changes in the product.

I worked at Labcyte (More than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers are friendly and helpful .

    Cons

Management does not want to get involved when there is any issue in the field.
They want the FSEs to figure things out without helping them to escalate to Engineering.
Most of Tech supports do not want to get involved with field issues.
Training is bad. and they expect you to know everything within a short time frame.
Moving an instrument is also not easy as it requires heavy lifting with out any additional man power. Also it is not very safe when you move an Echo.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring your friends who will only do unnecessary paperwork from home.
Please be more pro-active to talk to the people who are in the front line.

I have been working at Labcyte (More than a year)

    Pros

    A generally very motivated culture.
An extremely cool / cutting edge technology with a lot of "wow factor" for customers & prospective customers. Really up and coming company in a strong period of growth and recognition in the market.
    A culture of continual improvement.
Probably the job that I've enjoyed most so far.

    Cons

The cons in the other reviews don't really resonate with me, but I am a field employee who interfaces with outside stakeholders.
I am also newer having only been here almost 2 years.
I think that possibly there are some departments who struggle more with communication/ emotional intelligence skills.
Definitely some dysfunction as with all organizations, but a generally I see strategic changes to address these.

I have been working at Labcyte full-time

    Pros

Great technology that stands the test of time

    Cons

The culture is very silo'd. No really cooperation between departments. Haven't developed any new platforms in over 10 years. Management seems absent

    Pros

Great technology. Many fine to excellent rank and file colleagues. Pay is good.

    Cons

Dishonest, disrespectful and demeaning work environment. Cooperation with others invites abuse. You will be scapegoated relentlessly for attempting to do your job well. Management is dismissive and unresponsive to the point of negligence.

    Pros

The technology is great and there is a lot of market opportunity. Some very skilled employees who work hard and focus on customers. Compensation is good, benefits are up to comparable standards.

    Cons

The corporate culture is not supportive of employees. The organization is frozen in fear of making mistakes rather than learning from them and advancing the company. Finger pointing and closed door conversations are the norm.
