Pros
It's full time with the option for overtime weekly. 3 days off a week. Mostly independent work. Good for someone that's not much of a "people person", or is looking for a change. Definitely the best first step to getting D.O.T certified to drive larger vehicles. That's where the "real" money is. This specific DSP doesn't do any "trashy" areas (for a lack of a better word), so there's a very low thievery/robbery/package stealing risk except certain apartment complexes. Almost always North/Central county & Poway areas, so you get to see different neighborhoods.
Cons
Company/DSP is just an Amazon contractor. And aren't much better with employee treatment. Very little training, hands on or otherwise. Cheap, when it comes to issues with company vehicles (i.e. I pointed out the tires were looking flat, and a little bald, and the tire warning was also indicating low tire pressure. Dispatcher said they weren't "that bad".) Usually made to seem like I'm the problem, or at least wrong. The vans themselves are usually fairly dirty (sometimes due to other drivers), and several have/had major ant problems. The vans were reportedly "cleaned" one evening, very next day got a van that was clearly still dirty and trashy, with the smell of urine fairly strong. When I asked about the cleaning, was told they "wiped down the steering wheels and dashboards." Half of the vans smell like urine because some of the other guys utilize empty water bottles as opposed to trying to find a bathroom (or bush) to finish as fast and possible (partly a DSP/amazon pressure to perform as quickly and "efficiently" as possible.)
