    I have been working at Libbey full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    The company has accepted that they have made mistakes and is working to figure out it's future. It's a 200 year old start up. The past few years have been a bit of a roller coaster, but it's on the upswing. The people make Libbey one of my favorite places I've worked at in the area. The current CEO is Bill Foley as of Jan 2016.

    Cons

    The revolving door of the C-Suite has been rough. The technology is incredibly dated. Honestly I have no idea how it's made it this long.

    Advice to Management

    Old ways won't open new doors. Embrace change.

    I have been working at Libbey full-time

    Pros

    Culture is improving, slowly. The vision of “Creating Momentum” actually gives some direction finally. Good people in both corporate and plants. Week off at the end of the year. Technology and digital investments are starting to pay off finally.

    Cons

    Stark difference between corporate and plant culture still. Badly needs innovation. Benefits are great, except for the huge deductibles.

    Advice to Management

    Need further direction on where Libbey actually wants to be or go in the end. If we get momentum, where.do we actually go with it?

      I have been working at Libbey full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

      Competitive pay and benefits. Nice offices located in the heart of a revitalized downtown Toledo. Reasonably priced, company subsidized parking.

      Cons

      Poor corporate culture, departmental silos, mostly uncooperative and unfriendly employees, archaic systems, processes and business practices. Horrible union contracts that make efficient operations and providing a high level of service to customers almost impossible.

      Advice to Management

      You have a list of corporate values. Build the culture around them, actively nurture the culture you want: make the values more than words on the corporate website. Listen to the employees who have seen excellence at the previous companies that they have worked for.

      Gratification from working for company that is over 200 years old; health insurance benefits are great; 401k match is good

      Cons

      High employee turnover; changing strategies; can feel very reactive as opposed to proactive

      I have been working at Libbey full-time for more than 20 years

      Pros

      The pay is good if you stick out the crazy hours. Backed by a union. Job stability. Easy to learn any department.

      Cons

      Abnormal hours, unprofessional atmosphere in most of the Toledo plant, also being moved to another location without agreeing to it.

      Advice to Management

      High turnover rate. Very little training.

      Pros

      You'll get your check on time. There were at least some good people still working for the company before I quit, but I have to imagine that more than a few of them have either retired or left by now.

      Cons

      Too many to list. The CEO, Board of Directors, and Senior Management will not care about you - unless you're one of their relatives or cronies put into a superfluous position to get paid twice as much as the people doing the real work for the company. CEO, et al. would not hesitate to fire a dozen employees if they thought it will raise their stock price by a dime. They would shut down a plant or an entire department...

      Recognize the resource that is your employee base. Treat them like family, not like chattel. Invest in your community. Demand better leadership.

        Lots of changes, employees with same complaints with out any possible corrections.
