      Failing, dysfunctional organization

      Pros

      The people who work at LifeLabs are great, and the workshops genuinely help a lot of people at different organizations.

      Cons

      LifeLabs is the most dysfunctional company that I've ever worked for. Leadership has taken what used to an open, unique company culture and transformed it into a secretive, backstabbing and closed minded organization without any increase in performance. Sales and Marketing leadership have no idea how to get the company back on track and they spend their time flailing around jumping from one short term solution to another. The comp structure doesn't make any sense, and you won't make commission as a salesperson no matter how well you do.

      Thank you for sharing your perspective. We’re glad you highlighted the strength of the people here and the impact of our workshops; those remain core to who we are. We also want to acknowledge your concerns. The company has been evolving intentionally as we’ve adapted to a shifting market and worked to position ourselves for long-term success. That has involved rethinking how our teams operate to best serve our clients, as well as leaning deeper into experimentation to accelerate action. As we’ve sharpened our external strategy, we’ve also looked inward to our Labmate experience. Since November 2025 in particular, we’ve introduced more robust and transparent compensation and commission structures to better reward performance and support growth. We’re confident in our direction and focused on continuing to strengthen how we operate as an organization. We recognize not all of this may feel seamless in the moment. We understand that periods of change can be frustrating, and we take feedback like this seriously. It helps shape how we continue to improve and move forward.       Great people, strong mission, lots of learning!

      Pros

      I've been at LifeLabs for several years, and I have loved the autonomy, commitment to values (not just words here), amazing people (smart and funny and kind - what more could you want?), and growth and learning opportunities I've found at LifeLabs. There's a lot of room for people to make stuff happen - and on the Sales team specifically, self-motivated, driven, and #AlwaysBeLearning-oriented folks are appreciated! I'm also excited about some of the recent investments we've made in bringing in tech that will help people do their jobs (Gong, outside sales training, etc.) While we have a lot of internal expertise, it's making it a lot easier for us to be effective when we can utilize best-in-class tech and learning!

      Cons

      Less of a con and just more two things to be aware of: 1) Change is a constant here. Even though LifeLabs has been around for more than 10 years, it operates as a startup in many ways. New systems and processes are coming often, so needing to do things the same way all the time doesn't really fly here. 2) Not every role at LifeLabs is designed to be a "lifetime role." The upside of a great culture is retention - people want to stay! The downside is that sometimes roles don't shift to continue responding to the evolving needs of individuals - LifeLabs is a place where you can be happy for years (like I have), but the two majority roles we have (sales and facilitation) don't see a ton of role evolution, so being willing to accept that is important to overall satisfaction.
