I have been working at M Financial Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

To start, everyone I work with are incredibly smart, talented, and genuine people. The benefits are awesome! Parking, medical, dental, and vision are all 100% company paid. The compensation is competitive with the market and with an annual bonus it puts comp above the market. The office location is in the heart of the Pearl District so it's a super fun place to be, especially in the summer. The company has been around...

I worked at M Financial Group full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Generous bonus, if certain financial metrics are met Transportation stipend (parking pass, Tri-Met pass, etc.) Nice office located in the Pearl.

    Cons

The culture is in transition and many employees do not trust management. Management does not appear to care that employees are leaving at an alarming rate. Strategic initiatives are priority number one at the cost of daily responsibilities. Most systems are outdated, or involve manual manipulation to work properly. Unless you are an actuary, there is no career development and opportunities for growth are few and...

    Pros

People you work with can be great. Parking, shops, food, and ... that’s where it stops

    Cons

People you work with can be toxic. Too many chiefs. Leaders are not listening. People are leaving every week for a reason. Take these reviews seriously.

I worked at M Financial Group full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Location is great, some of the people are incredible

    Cons

New leadership, unfortunately, are making changes just for change sake. Leadership team members are completely disrespectful. Employees are not treated well at all. Experienced and smart employees that have been there a long time are leaving... their intellectual knowledge and expertise out the door with them.

    Advice to Management

    Need new management

I worked at M Financial Group full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Beautiful building, ideal location, free parking, benefits (not including PTO)

    Cons

Stressful, unorganized, non-supportive, vacation time (two weeks???)

    Advice to Management

Although there has been much change within the broker dealer/registered investment advisory, they have backpedaled to a culture of distrust, politics, all days full of meetings and a general deceitful environment. When the previous executive team was wiped out, there was a hope of a new and better team stepping in. It was better for a while then the attrition began again, slowly but surely, with replacements that followed...

I worked at M Financial Group full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

The benefits are decent, paid parking, and the breadth of products are a great experience.

    Cons

This company has gone from bad to worse in the last 2 years. So many people I know who work there can't get a good night sleep, they either can't sleep due to stress or wake up in the middle of the night panicked about work. This is no way to live. So many good people have left, it is no longer the company that it used to be. I feel the company no longer has any integrity nor does it value its employees or member firms.

    Advice to Management

Stop driving good people to the brink of a nervous breakdown for profit. It only works for a short time. There's only so many qualified people that you can churn and burn.

    Pros

None. Well, the office is nice. Because M is all show.

    Cons

Toxic, toxic leadership. All the best people have left or are leaving. Leadership likes to claim it's because the staff can't handle change. This is completely untrue. They are leaving because the company is now toxic.

    Advice to Management

    Quit.
