Pros
Sometimes it feels like it's not 'cool' to like where you work - but when I compare M1 to other jobs I've had, my time at M1 has easily been the most positive and enriching experience from the set. Why? [1. The people are great] - My immediate team is trusting and collaborative, and the greater M1 community (including leadership) is filled with engaged, talented, and compassionate people. I learn a lot from my coworkers and enjoy them. [2. The work is fun] - I'm challenged and excited by most projects. I see growth in my work. Volume ebbs and flows (sometimes it's 'down time', sometimes it's 'go time', and I like that). I'm able to take time off as-needed. [3. Comfortable comp] - I was happy with my initial offer *and* have received raises over time that feel in-step with my increasing experience and value. [4. Transparency] - I feel like line-of-sight at M1 is really good. Information is shared openly and there are lots of opportunities to give feedback.
Cons
It's realistic to say that there have been some lows. Being at a younger company has meant some unsteadiness around key moments, building from scratch, facing failures, and learning to work together. Individuals' experiences can and do vary greatly - on the whole, mine has been very good.
