I have been working at MBP full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I enjoy my peers and their willingness to assist with answering questions.

I haven't identified any real problems that loom in the back of my mind on a daily basis.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at MBP full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

This is a company with a very strong culture and a great reputation for quality of service. There are a lot of good, dedicated people and there is a great sense of camaraderie. There are many opportunities for those willing to work hard or contribute ideas. The firm works hard on keeping its clients and its employees happy.

    Cons

While the firm has been making efforts to change, it has been in a status quo position for some time and that has limited some career advancement. There is an ownership transition in motion that looks positive, with the new team starting to implement some positive ideas.

    Advice to Management

Continue to implement change that will grow the company and increase profits.

I have been working at MBP full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

None to mention at this time

    Cons

This is now the worst company anyone could work for. Unless your a VT graduate or willing to kiss the managers butt you are just a number. If your not billable they don't need you. All the good employees have been let go due to the incompetence of the management covering their butts and not taking the blame but instead blaming the inspectors. Roanoke VA management has become a complete joke in the industry.

    Advice to Management

Look at your branch managers!!!! Ask the staff how they feel. Just because they are manager's does not mean they are being truthful

I have been working at MBP full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

People are the company's greatest asset and they know that. A lot of time and resources are put in to help employees grow their careers. Also, even those running the company still engage in day to day activity, often working alongside you on a project. It's a place where anyone from just starting out to founder of the company can feel comfortable.

    Cons

Work load is growing faster than the company, despite efforts to grow and bring on more people. Not a bad problem to have and efforts are there to manage it.

    Advice to Management

    Keep at it

I have been working at MBP full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Incredible amount of opportunity to develop yourself professionally through project assignments or through educational venues. Competitive benefits. Having so many services that MBP specializes in helps to ensure job stability as well as chances to expand your skills set by helping out on various jobs. We all have bosses/supervisors but here you are really allowed to explore and make recommendations. Your ideas are heard.

    Cons

Perhaps more flexibility on telework for analytical types. However, the offices of MBP are nice, so one shouldn't mind reporting to them.

    Cons

Have not come across any! If I had to give one thing it would be telework should be an option.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

Location. Pleasant coworkers. Upward mobility if you know the right people.

    Cons

There will be lots of talk in the interview process about being a "family" and "career growth" but there isn't much of a family here, just empty promises to fill positions. It's not about what you know. it's about who you know and if they like you. my advice, avoid and only accept if you have to.
