    Pros

Provided a quality of internship experience ranging from tax, audit, and even some marketing.

    Cons

A bit unorganized during the first week settling in, but it was still a great experience overall.

I worked at MGO full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

real hands on experience. opportunities to move around the firm if your current client base does not interest you.

    Cons

MGO lacks real training opportunities or useful on the job training. made to feel incompetent; severely undervalued until you threaten to leave. be prepared to figure things out on your own during your early years. thankfully I am a self starter and do not crumble under pressure or tough critics but I saw my colleagues struggle daily especially during busy season when the pressure was high and management was unrelentingly.

    Advice to Management

be more approachable. offer help in any condescending tone. reduce health care costs. nearly impossible for young families to afford your healthcare options and pay their mortgage. otherwise be prepared to loose your younger yet seasoned staff to your competitors.

    Pros

-Some of the people you work with are cool people.
    -

    Cons

-Some pretend to like you to get ahead. Don't get caught up in the gossip. It is a train wreck waiting to blow up.

    Advice to Management

Change management because they do not lead...they treat you like you are a number.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to make the staff feel appreciated. When the staff feel appreciated, they'll be willing to give more to the firm.

I have been working at MGO full-time

    Pros

The company is really trying to improve morale internally. More training, more happy hours, etc. Not sure if pay is increasing though.

    Cons

Promotions are getting harder to achieve. Focus is on getting jobs done when they should be more worried about work/life balance for employees so they all don't up and quit. It's likely that this is the case is most CPA firms though.

    Advice to Management

Recognize achievement when earned. Make sure that the promises you make about travel limitations are followed through on and that you are motivating individuals to work hard for a reason.

I have been working at MGO full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

We finally got rid of the 'boring accountants' crap! (I don't have to be ashamed to handout my business card anymore). Seems like we're starting move in the right direction.

    Cons

A little overworked, and underpaid. But, who isn't.

    Advice to Management

    Don't forget to listen.

I have been working at MGO full-time

    Pros

Great people to work with. Company culture is very team oriented.

    Cons

Not much room for growth - they prefer taking in people from the outside rather than promoting from the inside.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people and help them grow with the company!

    Pros

By far one of the best companies I have worked at. Figuring out the structure of the organization can be challenging at first. I started out interning and have since been promoted several times over the last 3 years. The company takes pride in their values and invests in employee appreciation and holiday events. Nothing short of an amazing group of co workers with a fun and comfortable work atmosphere. There is a strong sense of team spirit throughout the organization and employees help each other out.

I personally have been given guidance, mentor-ship, feedback and support by many of the Partners and Directors within the firm on several different occasions. The management team within the organization exhibits a great sense of pride in their work and growing this firm.

The CEO is very personable and takes the time to meet his employees and encourages us to give our input and ideas to make this firm better.

    Cons

After being employed with companies that could care less about there employees,I am so very grateful that I found MGO. I see no real cons to working for MGO. Yes, sometimes there are long hours, but there are also days that the doors close early just so we can all be with our families for some additional time right before/after the holidays.

    Advice to Management

I personally feel very lucky to be part of this organization. My advice to management would be to keep doing what your doing. Showing your employees they are valued and appreciated goes a very long way.
