I worked at MGO full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

real hands on experience. opportunities to move around the firm if your current client base does not interest you.

    Cons

MGO lacks real training opportunities or useful on the job training. made to feel incompetent; severely undervalued until you threaten to leave. be prepared to figure things out on your own during your early years. thankfully I am a self starter and do not crumble under pressure or tough critics but I saw my colleagues struggle daily especially during busy season when the pressure was high and management was unrelentingly.

    Advice to Management

be more approachable. offer help in any condescending tone. reduce health care costs. nearly impossible for young families to afford your healthcare options and pay their mortgage. otherwise be prepared to loose your younger yet seasoned staff to your competitors.

    Cons

A bit unorganized during the first week settling in, but it was still a great experience overall.

    Cons

-Some pretend to like you to get ahead. Don't get caught up in the gossip. It is a train wreck waiting to blow up.

    Advice to Management

Change management because they do not lead...they treat you like you are a number.

    I worked at MGO full-time

    Pros

The people I worked with are the reason I looked forward daily.
    The kitchen was also good.

    Cons

Government clients only gets boring after a while. Corporate clients arent so interesting
Management only interested in profits, while the staff get worked out.
    Not must staff appreciation

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to make the staff feel appreciated. When the staff feel appreciated, they'll be willing to give more to the firm.

    "MGO, not so bad"

I have been working at MGO full-time

    Pros

The company is really trying to improve morale internally. More training, more happy hours, etc. Not sure if pay is increasing though.

    Cons

Promotions are getting harder to achieve. Focus is on getting jobs done when they should be more worried about work/life balance for employees so they all don't up and quit. It's likely that this is the case is most CPA firms though.

    Advice to Management

Recognize achievement when earned. Make sure that the promises you make about travel limitations are followed through on and that you are motivating individuals to work hard for a reason.

I have been working at MGO full-time

    Pros

Great people to work with. Company culture is very team oriented.

    Cons

Not much room for growth - they prefer taking in people from the outside rather than promoting from the inside.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people and help them grow with the company!
