    Pros

    There are many opportunities to learn new things about the industries that Magnetek serves.

    Cons

    Starting PTO is a little less than others in the industry, but it quickly catches up.

    Advice to Management

    None

    I worked at Magnetek full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good parking, decent coffee, some good people
    Never a dull moment with the crazy politics. Nice walks on sunny days from building to building.

    Cons

    Don't rock the boat
    Grudges, favoritism, max 3% raise a year, even when your well below area average. Inconsistent bonuses if and when given.

    Advice to Management

    Change can and should be good. Sitting boats don't change for the better. Less turnover can boost morale.

    I worked at Magnetek full-time

    Pros

    Good, hard working co-workers.
    Nice office space, all needed computers, phones, etc. in-place.

    Cons

    Below low on average pay scale for industry.
    No opportunity for advancement.
    Poor management, poor training.
    Constantly combining positions due to other people quitting- too much work for one employee.
    Instead of fixing problems, the company uses temporary @fixes" to just get by.

    Advice to Management

    Better people skills- be honest up-front about the position and advancement. As I left, the company was bought-out. Even more top positions were shipped-out- dead- end company with managers just trying to get by.

    Cons

    Pros

    Magnetek has a casual work environment with great employees. Pretty open communication across business functions. Great place to learn with many advancement opportunities. Very little micro managing.

    Cons

    There are a few inefficiencies and free riders within the company, however, these will be present within any business one works in. Raises seem to be based more upon tenure rather than performance, except that there is a formal performance review which does offer some increases above standard raises.

    Pros

    good start to get some experience but not a good company to stay.

    Cons

    exploiting employees with menial wages while the upper management swimming in a jacuzzi full of green papers. understaffed company make you work like a slave.

    Pros

    Successful, stable company with good, honest people;
    Small to medium sized, so each employee is valued;
    Good opportunities for individual growth and development;
    Managers are concerned with providing actual experience for their interns.

    Cons

    Company has several buildings spaced out in the area, so Jimmy Johns drivers have a difficult time delivering hassle free.

    Advice to Management

    Free lunch would be awesome.
