Pros

You get to know about many projects - that's pretty much it.

Cons

Horrible people, management, behavior.. you name it. The CEO and the Chief Scientist have zero class and should take some class how to behave. The CEO is an extremely racist guy! Worst company I have ever worked for, seriously. You get treated better as a high school custodian. They steal scientists' ideas and write proposals. If you don't, they will fire you. I am not sure how a federal investigation has not been launched on MMI yet. No wonder anyone lasts more than 1 or 2 years at MMI.

It is disheartening to read this review, but all candidates should read all reviews to make a judgment and take the opportunity to come and visit with the people prior to joining. All employees have had the opportunity to speak openly at the pizza lunches or Friday lunches openly and offer suggestions for improvement. Clearly, this employee chose not to do that and offered a very negative view of the people and environment and hid under anonymity. Sometimes people who have not worked in companies previously and have been associated with universities cannot find the deadline-driven business environment conducive. One has to be self-motivated to work by themselves with guidance. The recommendation is unjust and unfair considering that numerous employees, over 100 of them, have worked between 2-16 years, depending on their personal situations. Several have moved because of their career changes or spousal requirements, and many are still in touch and seek references as they move from jobs. One person’s review should not be the decider based on all others who have contributed and succeeded in numerous projects they worked on, including the rewards of publication, which helped their resumes going forward. In a small business, everybody has to do small things for a social environment to thrive, and it is sad that employee looks at things negatively rather than the positive things they learned about a small business.

Chemist Position

Pros

Some of the chemical projects that I worked on were interesting ideas and had a lot of potential.

Cons

I started as a chemist for an internship program, and not only did I have a bad experience, but the bosses (Kris and Sudarshan) were very unsupportive. I was a chemist, and they wanted me to build something on the first week. I never took a mechanical engineer class, and this was not what I was looking for in an internship. There were additional problems, such as lab safety precautions that were not followed and the company culture is to work overtime without being compensated. I also had to leave for the week because my father died. While I was gone, they laid me off. I highly advise against working here!

Thank you for your comments. We strive to improve, and your comments are helpful. However, we did not lay you off because of your personal circumstances but because the projects you were working on possibly ended. Sometimes these things happen, and this is the reality of the world. Many large companies lay off people without notice, and small businesses have to adjust themselves based on the funding that they have received. There were zero personal benefits to being unhelpful or rude deliberately. Every employee has entitled to their expectations, and some places are better than others for every employee. Being negative does not help anyone, and one has to learn to live and let live

Thank you for your review. As a small business, we strive to do the best we can with difficult processes imposed on us by the government. Sometimes the rules are strict, and we have to follow them to be in compliance. Our number one priority is to keep all employees safe and offer security for a finite period based on contracts awarded. This helps people know they will not be laid off and allows them to plan their lives better as long as they are meticulous and complex in working towards a goal.
