I have been working at MatrixCare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of flexibility with work schedule
    Good benefits
    Good continuing education reimbursement
    Internal e-learning towards certifications
Lunches are often brought in from different restaurants
    Massages offered every Friday
    Bagels every Friday morning
    Office Happy Hours

    Cons

Leadership doesn't always listen to implementation on issues clients have. Thus there is often a difference in opinion on what should be fixed in the software and the time frame in which it should be done.

    Advice to Management

Poor communication to all parts of the business unit. Often times sales knows what's coming in a new release before implementation. Thus, tickets are submitted for enhancements or fixes when it is already being addressed. It would save a lot of time if the unit actually functioned as a full team rather then divisions within the unit.

I worked at MatrixCare full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They pay in United States Dollars

    Cons

    There is no cohesive plan
Projects change trajectory every 1-3 months
    Rarely prioritizes important work
    This are conflicting priorities
    Good work is ignored
    Unreasonable expectations for building software

    Advice to Management

    Actually manage.
I had 4 managers and none of them were involved in my work or provided feedback. I shared the same managers with many other developers who shared similar thoughts.

    Focus your management.
I worked with at least 6 scrum masters, 3 product managers, and 5 business analysts.
The numbers are a bit high, but the major problem was all of these people were split between too many projects and so they did a mediocre or worse job on any individual project.

    Listen to estimates.
If someone giving a crap-shoot estimate that a project is going to take months, don't expect it to be done in weeks.

    Communicate goals.
Deadlines just sort of floated around the office with no clarity regarding their authenticity.

    Adjust goals proactively.
Tagging along with the above 2 points, if someone estimates that a goal is going to be missed, the goal needs to be reviewed and adjusted sooner rather than later.

    Be more flexible.
Scrum and agile are not set in stone, teams should change practices that are beneficial for their circumstances
If you don't have a full-time product manager, don't force people to work around a 1/10th time product manager.
15 person teams with a lot of remote people need different things than 5 person teams all local.
There's are too many things for me to list here, it takes critically thinking about each team.

I have been working at MatrixCare full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Good co-workers, relaxed work environment, flexible hours, ability to work from home.

    Cons

Fractured company, offices and employees all over the place. Too many people have too different work hours.
Hires lots of unqualified, useless offshore developers and have to spend way to much time dealing with them.
Flag ship product has a known bug list of over 700 know bugs along with work arounds.
Poor leadership that doesn't have a clue. Their main goal is to take the company public and then bail out. Do not work here.

    Advice to Management

    Resign

I have been working at MatrixCare full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I cannot say more about my decision to join the MatrixCare team. I have never felt so welcome in a new work environment. My first day I was welcomed not only by my team by the CEO, CFO and VP's. My story was shared with the company prior to my start date, which created a great dialogue for my first day. There is wonderful communication and transparencies of what the future brings for the company as well as employee recognition. It truly feels like a collaboration to improve our clients experience, the goal is ultimately customer satisfaction and superior care. This job is challenging and offers a lot of variety. One of the core values of MatrixCare is "Happiness Matters" and you can feel that here. The company offers employee appreciation and engagement events that have great participation. I truly am grateful that I've decided to grow professionally with MatrixCare.

    Cons

MatrixCare has a lot of product lines. During the onboarding process you may believe that you will never know everything you need to know and you will always be referring to documentation.

I have been working at MatrixCare full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I truly believe MatrixCare follows its core values. ‘Happiness matters’ is what all employees live by and strive to prove to customers. As a young millennial I work within an environment which fosters my growth and development while having fun and allowing me to use my creativity. I enjoy going to work each day because I know my colleagues are all working just as hard to create an innovative and easy to use EHR system which will promote the best care for residents.

    Cons

We need more nurses or other healthcare professionals to join my team!
