A Great Place to Start Your Health Care Clinicals
Jun 11, 2022 - EMT-B in Durham, NCRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Medex is a growing company and great place to professionally grow! Management is not perfect and what management in any corporation is. However, they recognize their flaws and are willing to reassess to make it a better. It just takes time. They have company meetings when they think it is needed and are willing to listen. Flexible scheduling that supports those who are in school. Great platform for growth and leadership opportunities if you work hard, show up and put in little extra to show that you care. Their quality of marketing and brand aesthetic is top notch. Diversity has enhanced. They also just started their own EMT-B program and truly are leading in the corporate EMS industry by doing this.
Cons
Who you partner with in the truck can make or break the shift. Each company office is a different clique and culture of people. But depending on the clique, it can be a very caddy and immature environment. However, just do your best. Avoid the drama and communicate to your office supervisor what you need to do better. Be smart enough to not get involved with gossip and form your own opinions of others. Sometimes the company is on a shortage of labor and can run you a bit ragged. It's inevitable that something like that will happen in the EMS industry. Take note of when this happens, and advocate for your own work life balance. If you don't speak up, no one will listen.
