Pros

- Free fruit and tea/coffee available - Lots of different departments and things going on so there are many things to learn about if one is interested and if the staff in different departments are interested in sharing expertise - Quiet location - Depending on your supervisor, there are lots of avenues to expand your responsibilities and they are happy to help train you in areas you are interested in. - Many members of staff throughout all levels of the company (including heads of departments) are lovely and incredibly kind, happy to share their experience and teach others about their work. Some also do their best to help targets of bullying to manage and solve it as they are also aware of what happens.

Cons

- Some staff are nasty, borderline vindictive. There's a massive issue with bullying (particularly of younger staff) that goes on unchecked despite it being a known issue that's been prevalent for years. - No real HR presence so there's no one to approach about concerns in an official manner. - Some heads of department are on power trips and vicious to anyone who voices concerns to them despite the validity of the concerns. Upper management don't do anything about this when they're aware of it. Particular members of higher staff are particularly vicious to the ones they don't like, namely the ones that speak up, and there are no consequences or disciplinary action taken against repeat offenders so they continue to do it. - Young staff are often the targets of bullying, even by staff in higher positions. With the lack of HR and everyone already knowing about it anyway, there isn't any way of managing it effectively other than leaving. - Very cliquey with some groups being best avoided. - Interdepartmental communication and collaboration is difficult to do as particular departments are given much more power and try to dominate everything and everyone, even when they have less experience in what is being discussed. These powerful departments make decisions on their own and get sharp when others who are impacted aren't aware of them because they haven't been told. - People are promoted based on how long they've been in the company or by how much noise they make about it. Some are only promoted because they threaten to leave, even if they don't have the experience or capabilities to carry out or justify the new role. This leads to massive problems because there are key roles filled by people who don't really know what they are doing. - Poor pay
