I have been working at Native Instruments full-time

    Pros

*Best people to work and be around *Full access to gear and software *CEO's care, ALOT, they listen, and implement your suggestions! (that's rare imo) *Benefits package got a full re-do this year and they are stellar (This is why I gave a 5th star)

    Cons

*Office location is garbage in a garbage part of Hollywood *Compensation will always be a topic *Digital sector was hit with large downsize, hence the disgruntled reviews

    Advice to Management

*Remove disparity between departments *Director's should create roadmapping with career paths and growth *Create standard remote working parameters for entire office, or enforce managers to create for their team (-1 star work/life balance)

I worked at Native Instruments full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Some of the best plugins and products around! Great colleagues and working atmosphere.

    Cons

Too many meetings for a meeting to meet about the meeting! Deceitful management with no heads up on upcoming issues! Customer base is made up of self-entitled false egos which has driven the original model that NI had in the ground. TOo much emphasis on trying to please the music novices of the worl today instead of focusing on its core based consumers. Listen to your customers!!!

I have been working at Native Instruments full-time for more than a year

    Pros

NI is known for its incredible products and innovative design. Music makers around the world rely on NI to continually push the envelope on sound and technology.

    Cons

A TOTAL lack of strategy from the CEO and President. Where is the board in this mess? After raising money from EMH Partners in 2017, it's as if they themselves personally checked out. A failed sounds.com launch and a lackluster pipeline are only a few of the real concerns within the company. If changes aren't made at the top executive levels soon, Native Instruments will soon go the way of Kodak and other tech... companies that became complacent and failed to innovate.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your workers, consultants and customers. Start innovating again on sound and stop bickering over your own egos. You're steering a beautiful ship into a deadly iceberg.

I worked at Native Instruments full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The core employees are extremely talented and inspirational to work alongside. Music technology is a dynamic field to work in. The benefits package was greatly improved and competitive. Dog friendly environment.

    Cons

The environment is prefaced on fear and secrecy. There is a massive lack of transparency and trust. Goals by upper management are not shared honestly with teams and as a result teams are set up for failure. Management does not focus on the larger strategy and makes hasty decisions without taking the time to understand. Time differences and extensive European vacation allowances make globally dependent deliveries... impossible in a timely matter as all progress is stagnant while people are out of office. As a result collaboration is slow and technology can not move fast enough.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent in the goals you are setting for your employees to achieve both in Berlin and your additional global locations. If you want deliverables that meet your objectives you need to share these goals openly and early so that teams can be successful. If you want to have a US operation you need to carefully analyze the delivery dependency on areas which have extensive time off in comparison and ensure teams... always have adequate cover so that progress is not stagnated by lack of cover.

    I worked at Native Instruments

    Pros

There honestly aren’t any that make them with working for...

    Cons

You can’t trust them with your pay check. myself and several others were not paid what we were owed and NI has done little to rectify! Feels like the don’t know what they are doing. They waste more time trying to implement agile processes than actually building products. They haven’t figured out how to communicate. Their entire vision is a work in process because they don’t have a real plan.

    Advice to Management

Please fix your HR BS and pay people what they are owed! We gave you our time, pay us!

    Pros

    • Cool industry & product set. Many folks do care but....

    Cons

    • Yes, they recently laid off a lot of people (very poorly done I might add), but here's the main rub: From a business perspective, this is a 22 year old consumer electronics company that tried to pivot into cloud-based platform & digital services and 'widen the funnel' of their customer base (HUGE RED FLAGS ). • Company has run out of steam • Reactive, frantic, and scared leadership

    Advice to Management

Without a strong, clear, and consistent vision you are captaining a rudderless ship Let tech talent 'tech'....Trust that they will do a good job and hold them responsible when/if they don't.
