  1. "A celebration in mediocrity"

    I worked at Norgine full-time

    Pros

It's a fairly low pressure environment. Nice people, little politics. If you are mediocre, you will do just fine. A great place to pass time and pick up a salary with little chance you'll be asked to perform.

    Cons

As others have said, there is little ambition at this company. A mix of very high turnover and lifers. Management are essentially incompetent and couldn't run a bath if their life depended on it. Highly reactive with poor to non-existent strategic thought. If something actually goes to plan, then it's a surprise. There is an almost Maoist suspicion of intellect. A group of GCSE science pupils have more scientific understanding than the entire company put together, surprising for a pharma company. Essentially it's a company that happens to sell pharmaceutical products, but given how its run, it could equally be selling vegetables down the market.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the senior management that should really have retired ages ago.

    I worked at Norgine full-time

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere, majority of management and people are approachable and open, smaller company feel so get your hands on interesting projects/work that you might not elsewhere

    Cons

Company feels like it lacks ambition or willingness to challenge status quo, especially within what is a very competitive industry, colleagues seemed to have been here for 1-3 years as a stepping stone onto bigger things, or they've been here forever, which creates a strange dynamic.

    Pros

This Small but international company give you the chance to get in touch with top management and work with them with an "horizontal" organization culture. A friendly environment with a view on the future expansion with new products and partnerships

    Cons

Meaby some old HR procedures makes the laughs of people less brilliant

    Advice to Management

Align the HR approach with the big pharma

    Pros

I like the vision and communication skills of senior management. They are ambitious and being family owned gives them freedom to take a long-term view.

    Cons

Very few cons. Being relatively small means there are not as many opportunities for development and promotion as at Big Pharma, but internal development is pretty good.

    Advice to Management

Keep on doing what you're doing, but do more of it. Continue to think big and aim high. keep that pan-European focus.

    I worked at Norgine full-time

    Pros

    Growing company.
Good corporate culture focussing on inclusion.
    Business development activities.

    Cons

Bureaucracy - takes a lot of effort and time to push things through.
A lot to learn / adapt.
    Career growth is limited.
    Limited by its family-owned heritage.
Too much involvement of management in day to day decision-making.
Still narrow in its therapy area focus (Gastro).

    Advice to Management

Challenge status quo and challenge senior management on decision making. Take risks and don't waste time in holding up smaller projects from progressing.

I worked at Norgine full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Relatively small friendly company that makes useful products and is profitable. Easy to understand business and generally visible management teams

    Cons

Limited ambition and vision of executives to lead the company beyond its traditional areas and limited risk. Long serving senior managers is stable but not change minded

    Advice to Management

Set a bold vision for growth and leadership and radical change. It felt like somewhere that senior managers go before they finally retire
