Pros

• Fairly easy work. (At least in the painting department) • Free fountain drinks in breakroom. • Dog friendly workplace (exclusively for upper management). • Outdated/slow machines so if your lazy. Supervisors are okay with you faking like your doing something. • Office employees are selected by attractiveness not experience or credentials. • Dog friendly work environment ( only for upper management) • Allowed to listen to music while working (at least in painting department) • Controlled climate, but the heat radiating from painting machine in the warmer seasons. Gives off "Amistad" vibes.

Cons

• Low pay • No chance for advancement • Employees come and go. So dont get friendly. • Unorganized upper management • Lies about incentives promised to you by supervisors that you'll never receive. (They'll bring it up when they want you to work harder) • The condition of mens restroom is the perfect comparison of the company's morals and values. • Dog friendly workplace. ☆True story☆ The owners dog nipped at me during my orientation, but I was quick enough too evade the attack. Suceeded biting another guy's hand during his orientation (a few stitches). Though the owner did pay for the medical bills, the dog returned to work the following day. Along with many other dogs from upper management. Which can be spotted roaming unattended throughout the entire warehouse. Not once was I or any other new hire asked about pet allergies during orientation. • Pretty sure that dog was making more than me.

Pros

There are zero pros of working for this company.

Cons

The owner lacks vision, direction, and overall leadership ability. He likes to tout his own horn and attempts to impress people by pulling out wads of money in front of employees. The warehouse bathroom and break room are located in the same room without any barrier. So you will be taking your breaks and eating your lunch while your coworker uses the restroom! The majority of heaters in the warehouse are positioned above inventory, which prevents them for being turned on because it would damage the inventory-be prepared for a cold winter work environment. Furthermore, every inch of the work area is covered in black soot. If one were to work there for an extended period of time, they would probably develop respiratory issues. There is a myriad of other issues that OPS exhibits, like having an emergency exit with a padlock on it as well as having the emergency eye wash station hidden behind layers of old inventory. If you needed to utilize the eye wash station and managed to climb over the old inventory you would come to find that the eye wash station is covered in dust and grime that have visibly been accumulating for an extended period of time (most likely years). Additionally, nearly a third of the primary warehouse is filled with with decades old obsolete inventory. This posses an extreme safety risk to any worker operating in this area as the material is stacked high and has been deteriorating for years. Each pallet weighs a little over a ton and if it were to fall on someone, it would probably result in life threatening injuries or death. In the short time that I worked for the company, I saw at least 2-3 stacks fall or tip over each week. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration should make an onsite visit.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We are committed to providing our employees with a safe and healthy work environment and are sorry to hear that you had some concerns. The warehouse area is heated year round but at a lower degree range during the winter months. The eye wash station is functioning and accessible and we are not aware of any safety issues or injuries occurring in this facility. The picture portrayed as the break room near the bathroom is inaccurate as there is a designated break room/ lunch room on the second level. What is shown in the picture is simply a room outside of the restroom that is not meant for breaks or eating. In response to the wads of money, our policy at Open Plan Systems is to provide each employee a $50 cash gift for their birthday and as the owner, I personally hand this out. We are very proud of the 170 plus employees at Open Plan Systems and as a company are always concerned for everyone's safety and work environment. We are sorry you found it to be a poor experience and wish you the best of luck in your future endeavors.
