Pros
Working here is pretty cool, since a lot of the positions are remote. Working from home always has its perks and when your in the office, the environment is pretty laid back to. Most of the staff is friendly and seems like everybody enjoys what they do. Startup vibes when in the office with game nights, free gear, etc. The company, like many others...usually would promote from within, which is great since people often would move up quickly. Working here was mostly positive. Pay is decent , especially for someone finishing or fresh out of college. A few coworkers were able to move into their own places during employment.
Cons
Since you work from home in some positions ,you have these check-ins with management that aren't too useful. You have to stay on top of numbers like a sales job, which sucks since your customer service. You are graded on call performances which is fine, but you could be doing everything perfectly and still not always have perfect scores. Not too bad, but working from home full time will keep you in the house ALOT, so remote jobs have their own pros and cons regardless of the company you work for. Lastly, the logging process of customer and restaurant issues is very tedious, since you literally log every move you make - probably the worst part of the position is filling out tickets. I believe that's mostly what I can say legally . lol

Great Company. Lots of Fun! Growing Fast!
Oct 19, 2014 - Full Time in Baltimore, MDRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great culture, lots of fun people. Lunch on Mondays from great restaurants. Let me say again, everyone is really fun here and full of smiles. I love walking the halls seeing everyone working, smiling and generally enjoying work. I enjoy going to work everyday knowing there is a hot cup of coffee, snacks and a positive attitude over all. Training is OK, not a lot of training on the company as whole it is improving.
Cons
So many new people that everyone is still trying to figure everything out. Much of management is still very new and making mistakes at this point. Lots of micromanagement by some of the managers, not willing to let people just do the jobs they gave them, but want to continually switch lanes and directions with seemingly little reason. Can be very frustrating at times. Prepare to work a ton, if you think this is 9-5 40hrs a week this is not the place for you. Expect to work much more.

Pros
Set your own schedule and work whatever available hours you want. Good for a side income if all else permits. Coworkers and support are friendly and helpful. Meet new people and establish relationships with businesses.
Cons
The review left by an Operations Manager accurately addressed many legitimate problems. For Drivers, the base pay rate changes from time to time and often without notice. Slow days may be frequent when there are too many drivers, and (more forgiveable) not many sales. Often orders are pushed to you within 5-10 minutes of the end of your schedule, meaning you will be working 10-20 minutes past the end of your scheduled work period because orders take 15-20 minutes to complete. This can be very frustrating when deliveries average $4 each and youre not being paid for that extra 20 minutes because the $4 is applied to the previous hour to meet the base pay rate. Sometimes orders will be in queue for 15 minutes and they will wait to send it to you 5 minutes before your schedule is over. Harsh on a vehicle. Expect your brakes, wheels and fuel system to be heavily stressed and to incur the expense of such maintenance on your own. On a slow day, the gas expense will neutralize the single digit base pay making work unprofitable.

Decent Temporary Part-Time Job
May 17, 2017 - Brand Ambassador in Nashville, TNRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Being a Brand Ambassador with OrderUp had its advantages: - Flexible hours: I started this position to supplement a summer internship, finding available hours on evenings and weekends. It's a solid gig for students or recent grads seeking part-time work. - Lots of perks with free food and branded gear. - Fun to explore the city, interact with restaurant clients and prospective customers, and attend local events (i.e. Farmer's Markets, entrepreneurship panels, cultural celebrations, food and music festivals, etc). - The office is located in a vibrant collective workspace with interesting events related to art and music.
Cons
However.... - We were required to violate campus policies about impermissible outside advertising. We were asked to leave each nearby college numerous times, including many run-ins with security personnel or even police officers. When explaining the situation to our superiors, they responded by telling us to get over our discomfort with illegal behavior and be more discreet next time. - Nearly impossible to regularly schedule more than 20 hours per week - No reimbursement for driving or parking even though I spent a great deal of time in the car. - Grating interactions with rude, condescending management. - Despite several months of experience, I felt as though achieving leadership opportunities or transitioning to higher-level roles within the company was unlikely. - The fun wears off after about three months. It was clearly time to move on.

Best Place I've Ever Worked
Jan 6, 2016 - Anonymous Employee in Baltimore, MDRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I LOVE working at OrderUp. I came from a recruiting background - high anxiety, high quotas, and lots of micromanaging. It is the complete opposite here. Everyone is so based on work-life balance and work hard, play hard - come in when you want, leave when you want - just get your work done. We have happy hours every month, free catered lunches every Friday, flexible PTO, and people are really supportive of each other - professionally and personally. It's an amazing time to grow within something that's bigger than yourself and feel inspired by the work everyone is doing around you. I couldn't love this place more if I tried.
Cons
I think sometimes there could be better communication between departments on projects. We can get where we need to much quicker if we all work together!

Fast paced, exploding field with young and fabulous talent.
Mar 4, 2015 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Fair pay, free swag (shirts, cups, hoodies, beanies, shades), local/small company feel with big company aspirations, free catered lunch every Friday with a free $5 credit to OrderUp every week, free and unlimited coffee, tea, soda, snacks, and fruit in office. PTO is "take as you need it". Monthly social events, weekly company meetings, cool open office plan. Upper management (CEO, COO, CIO) are all approachable and they welcome comments and ideas from all employees, including entry level.
Cons
Pressure to perform and over-achieve, long hours, hard to disconnect. Work/life balance is something you actively have to manage here otherwise personal life loses. This is the kind of environment where everyone is working toward a common goal and transparency is important to everyone, but things often happen so quickly that you may feel overwhelmed or out of the loop. It's impossible to stay fully informed of everything happening when things are moving this quickly.

Great Company That Helps You Progress
Jun 30, 2015 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The people are wonderful, kind, they have many perks from salary to commission and other forms of pay. You get to choose your own ideas, learn some needed skills and overall you get to drive and meet many people.
Cons
Sometimes the pay is not that great if it is slow, plus you put a ton of miles on your car. This is not a job for someone who is trying to provide for a large family, if it is your only means of income.

Customer Experience Expert
Jul 12, 2017 - Customer Experience ExpertRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Enjoyed my 5 years; Remote position from home; Full-time set hours; Paid time off; Co-workers that were great; Watched the company grow & expand; Enjoyed helping customers, drivers, and restaurants; Most of the Management team (Except 1) was great to work with and they truly cared about their teams and making the job better for everyone! Honestly enjoyed working in this position!
Cons
Lack of job growth & incentives: They stopped hiring / promoting Remote CEE's outside of the 2 headquarter states; Scheduling was not very flexible; New employees were given preference in scheduling (New employees were given schedules w/weekends off while tenured employees were not). Wages & Lack of wage increases
