I worked at Otis Spunkmeyer full-time

    Pros

Great products, marketing department was very strong and consumers really love the products. Excellent job in the food service channel.

    Cons

Poor company direction. Not a strong retail presence for any of their items and no strategy to gain market share. Once a small family owned business has become a big corporation.

    Advice to Management

Create better Corp culture by returning to family values that company was founded on. Develop more retail consumer friendly products

    Pros

Fun group of people to work with. Enjoyed my time! Great free cookies available every morning.

    Cons

Management's expectations were quite lofty with the resource constraints in the organization. Not easy to hit the mark on a regular basis and exceed expectations

I worked at Otis Spunkmeyer full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The Benefits were good, Great People to work with. The Cookies and Muffins were amazing.

    Cons

Expected to work long hours - Management is allowed to bully and make threats while HR did nothing. Little to no appreciation of coming up with new process for efficiency to process.

    Advice to Management

Don't always listen to your network of friends you should hear both sides of the story and make your decision based on what's best for the company and not buddies.

    Pros

U only work 8hr shifts. Very strong team work among the employees. The supervisors are always looking out for their employees. Ensure a quality product is being produced and very big on safety.

    Cons

Third shift don't get there 40 hours like they should. They are not for their employees like should be. Putting u on the schedule at the last minute.

I worked at Otis Spunkmeyer full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great job. I enjoyed working at the Indianapolis Sales Center. I was employed there for about 3 1/2 years.

    Cons

Since the sales center was so small, there was no room for further growth. The last I heard was that the corporate office closed all the sales centers.

    Pros

Company was very people-oriented. Salaries were good, management good and a good work atmosphere.

    Cons

When the company was bought out, everything changed. It became all about money at the expense of good people.

    Advice to Management

You lost great people...it's not always about money.

I worked at Otis Spunkmeyer full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Steady work, did your own thing for the most part. the pay was decent can't really complain about that aspect.

    Cons

They always expected you to come in and do overtime. There will be a month where you work everyday and they get mad when you call in because sometimes you just need a day off. and they have a lot of Temps working there who could sealy cover your shift.

    Advice to Management

Maybe you can get out there and give them a reason to want to work instead of just working for a pay check.
