I worked at PAM Transport full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great pay good loads for team and hazmat

    Cons

Sometimes they can’t get you home, but if you know the loads you can speak to logistics. Safety sucks.

I worked at PAM Transport full-time for less than a year

    Pros

No good reason to work for pam transport other than Decent Trucks.

    Cons

Dispatch doesn't answer you but expects you to answer for them. Was forced to drive without getting a DOT issue fixed on my truck just to get the load to California on time. Luckily I didnt get an inspection. Requested to go home on Thanksgiving, they approved my hometime request but them forced me to take a load from California to Tennessee and go right through my home state. Would not let me Tcall load only 4 hours from destination of load. Then they had me sit in Nashville TN and stated the load was not ready until 3 pm and there was no way I could pick it up ONLY to tcall it in NLR for a delivery date to Laredo TX that wasn't due for 2 weeks. Long story when I arrived to pick up load. It was a storage place that was CLOSED and the rep I spoke with on the phone stated the load was ready the day before.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at PAM Transport

    Pros

Mostly good people here and no bad reputations amongst our drivers. My DM and other operations managers are very kind and seem to do there best to keep me happy. I’m VERY appreciative of being surrounded by good people! Equipment is pretty new as promised and rarely run into any significant maintenance issues. The people I’m surrounded by is enough to keep me neutral on my thoughts if that says anything.

    Cons

Disclaimer: The following does not pertain to team drivers, lease operators, or dedicated drivers. Pay for your work as a solo OTR driver is not great per se. I understand full heartedly that truck driving is not for everyone, but I love being out on the road - I really do. 3 weeks out and 3 days off for my pay is pretty “ehh” though (considering over 60hrs a week). My miles are inconsistent from week to week. I don’t expect to get an exact number per week, but I should be able to gauge a rough estimate. Paid from zip code to zip code I’m pretty sure. More often than not, I’m getting less miles on my pay than what I drive. Going back to work after break isn’t dreadful for me necessarily, but it’s still upsetting knowing my time isn’t as valuable as the need for drivers is. I’ve heard positive things about teaming, but I’m just not built for that kind of lifestyle which appears to handicap me.
