    OTR Driver Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Evansville, IN
    Accepted Offer
    Neutral Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at PAM Transport (Evansville, IN) in December 2012.

    Interview

The hiring process was via the internet at PAM's website. After applying, a recruiter would call and conduct a phone interview, which was more of a how-to course on training online to test for getting a CDL. Beyond the interview, the most difficult aspect involved was having to spend several hours out of the day for several days testing and answering questions on the website to help prepare for CDL testing.

    Interview Questions

    • The most difficult question was whether I wanted to be away from home or not.   1 Answer

    Negotiation

    There were no negotiations.

    Class A Truck Driver Interview

    Anonymous Employee in Austin, TX
    Accepted Offer
    Positive Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at PAM Transport (Austin, TX) in June 2012.

    Interview

Interview was thru Driver Solutions over the phone. Verifying application questions. Then waiting for background check to take place. Once this was completed, you were set up with an online study process that once completed, would allow you to proceed onto CDL school

    Interview Questions

    • Quite a bit of the process was explaining how Driver Solutions worked and the process you would be going through. Starting with your initial acceptance then on to your online tutorials thru E-Gears and then onto your going to the CDL school. Once your approved, you'll be studying for and taking the required online test before being allowed to go to school. Once you pass all required exams, you'll be asked when you would like to attend the nearest approved CDL school. After completion of school, you will be contacted by the company you chose and set up a date to go for orientation. Then it's on to driving with your trainer and getting upgraded to being an actual company driver. This is when the next phase of school begins....actually driving solo OTR and learning on a daily basis while getting experience.   1 Answer

    Interview

Very laid back and easy interview. After applying online they will invite you into the office for an inperson interview. Arrive early as parking can be hard to find. Once you walk into the office the receptionist will have you fill out a decision making test while waiting for the interviewer. Once the interviewer arrives he will take you up to his office and ask you a couple of easy questions.

    No Offer
    Negative Experience
    Easy Interview

    Application

I applied online. I interviewed at PAM Transport (Springdale, AR).

    Interview

First there was an initial phone screening. Then after passing that requirement, an actual interview was scheduled. Multiple essay questions were sent to me to complete beforehand. After arriving on site, I really got the impression the job was already filled before even posting it. People were rude and did not smile back. Complete waste of time. They did not go over what the job entails until I asked. The interview didn't even consist of actual questions. "Favorite class in college, Least Favorite" end of interview.

    Interview

The interview was totally unorganized with every manager in operations in the room. It was semi comical. There was one manager that was the alpha male that fought for the attention over the rest of the group. There was no set interview structure.
