I have been working at PCMH full-time

    Pros

Working with clients and cool co-workers.

    Cons

Not all but the majority of upper management is extremely unpleasant to work with and extremely unprofessional. Any complaints to their supervisor or human resources is swept under the rug. Mangers also like to belittle and retaliate against their staff.

    Advice to Management

Work with your supervisors to be professional and work with the staff to get the job done. Dealing with the mental health profession and the job can be stressful enough.

    Pros

As a counselor you are able to obtain an abundant amount of information, regarding the mental health population which helps you gain experience.

    Cons

As a counselor you are responsible for tons of paperwork, which at times has you behind a computer as opposed to giving your undivided attention to your clients.

Thank you for your frrdback. Unfortunately as a licensed mental health provider, NYS requires us to do a ton of paperwork. I am as frustrated as you with this requirement but we must comply. Jacob
