Pros

Close to the City, great Cafes and eateries nearby. There is one really good coffee shop across the road, I recommend getting your coffee from there.

Cons

There is an illegally small amount of toilets, and there are 2 parking spaces for 20 staff. The air conditioning is not right, either freezing or heat depending where you sit. The commission structures is unattainable and forever changing, and very skewed towards making the directors profit, not the workers. It is culturally horrendous, the NPS scores usually sitting about 20/100 and both the directors have little to zero idea on how to manage people. Ironically, they sell courses on culture and leadership, perhaps they might try attending their own courses, they might learn how to run a team of people.

Great work/life balance but no autonomy

Pros

I loved working at PD training. I thoroughly enjoyed the diversity of my work day and enjoyed working on projects with key stakeholders. PD Training encourages a work/life balance. If my work load was getting too large I was encouraged to suggest ways to reduce it - work smarter not harder.

Cons

While PD Training hired the right people, I noted that they tended to languish in their jobs. The directors are very hands on and are deeply involved in every decision made. It is a small business after all, so employees tended to not have much autonomy (except for highly defined process driven roles). If a decision is made that the directors did not like, the harshness of their response tended to create an atmosphere of fear. So rather than thinking in an innovative and intrapreneurial manner, employees after a few months turned inward and more towards self-preservation than optimising processes or solving problems creatively.

Pros

- Great work life balance - Good company culture (the people are great) - Small company so you learn a lot

Cons

- Targets and KPIs keep changing once you're near it (so basically the owners make it seem impossible to reach in the first place - Forget any salary raise even if you are doing well - Owners are very hands-on but too hands on, in fact, they keep timesheets for everyone as they want to know what you are doing by the minute - Half the owner is a micromanager - Other half is just full of himself (rarely listens to anyone else)
