    Pros

Competitive pay and benefits, excellent structured company with effective processes and an eye on the bottom line.

    Cons

The expectations are high but the rewards are miniscule compared to other companies. Celebrating success is virtually unknown.

    Advice to Management

Keep to the plan and manage through the demanding work assignments.

I have been working at PacifiCorp full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Its a paycheck, lunch breaks, coffee shop near by. Co-workers are okay, would not be friends.

    Cons

The place is awful. No one is ever happy, most of the long-time staff are always mad and rude. The company DOES not care about employees. Big wigs are sticks in the mud and are just stuck up. If you apply or interview and don't receive any contact its normal, just a terrible environment all around. Big wigs never engage with the employees , to busy rubbing elbows with eachother.

    Advice to Management

Nothing to say, they are stuck in the 80's and will never change.

    Pros

    Can't think of anything good

    Cons

Don't even bother, not worth your time

Treat employees as assets and not expenses

I worked at PacifiCorp full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Very professional and welcoming environment when I was hired at PacifiCorp in 2005. Great 401K pension plan and benefits.

    Cons

When Warren Buffet purchased the company, job stability, tuition reimbursement, and bereavement pay went away. Pay and PTO accrual went down, and benefits cost more now.

    Advice to Management

Treat employ.ees with more kindness or get out.

I have been working at PacifiCorp full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you like overtime it is great. If you don't have a degree the money is wonderful.

    Cons

It will suck the very life right out of you. If you value your relationship with family and friends and care to see them again, don't work here. If you want to feel you are doing something important with your life and contributing to the world, this is not your place. They want friendly, ask-no-questions, robots.

    Advice to Management

I wouldn't know where to begin and it doesn't mater anyway, no one listens.

    I worked at PacifiCorp full-time

    Pros

I enjoyed administering a variety of employee programs. I also analyzed data and was a business analyst for a technology project.

    Cons

It's a large corporation, and can be a quite political working environment.

    Pros

    Smart people to work with.

    Cons

VP infighting negatively affects people doing the work.

    Advice to Management

Add more positions rather than over-burdening existing staff.

    Pros

    Great pay, many talented coworkers.

Incompetent plant management, very expensive health benefits, horrible union leadership, negative moral. No chance to move to other areas

    Advice to Management

Invest in moral, invest in employee's

I worked at PacifiCorp full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They say pay is decent "for the area." Benefits are terrible though they don't even pay for employees to park in one of the most dangerous areas in the city. Another way for them to "cut costs" at the expense of the employees.

    Cons

It's miserable. Everyone coming off the elevators from the other floors looked so much happier and full of life. This kind of 8 to 5 regimental at your desk all hours crap doesn't exist anymore. Why would people stay when other companies offer environments that make you ENJOY what you do? Seriously the most life sucking environment I've ever witnessed I feel so bad for anyone still working there.

PS Stefan Bird is the most delusional, egocentric freak I've ever met. Run, fast.

    Advice to Management

You're the problem and you don't care as long as you get your money and all the rich people stay that way. The rest of us who are enjoying life and our families feel kind of sorry for you.
