I have been working at Pattern Energy Group full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

We get to get paid to make clean energy and help save the world
Work with high functioning doers that care about the environment
Culture that cares about its employees starting with the CEO

    Cons

Very dynamic company that shifts to market demands
High pace culture, not for faint of heart
Going through rapid change with high focus on internal process/system improvement

    Advice to Management

Keep pushing for internal process improvement. Still a long way to go.
Focus on removing unclear organizational boundaries (they don't fix themselves)

I worked at Pattern Energy Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Good pay and great benefits
    Office location

    Cons

Horrible work/life balance unless you are a certain select few that pick and choose their schedules while piling ALL of their workload on one person
    Management is a disgrace.
No training. Sink or swim mentality.
Bullying and name calling was an everyday challenge
    No communication
Manager never had time for questions except they always seemed to have plenty of time for casual chit chat with other “long term” employees
    Zero guidance
    Forms are outdated
Procedures are extremely redundant and time consuming
... and the list is never ending.

    Advice to Management

Seriously take a look at what’s really going on. Management needs serious improvement.

I have been working at Pattern Energy Group full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Dedicated employees
Close to BART and Ferry Building
    Ergonomic workstations
    Annual bonus

    Cons

No work/life balance for most of the employees
Managers with poor people skills and not held accountable for bad behavior
EMT unable to recognize work/life balance is not improving

    Advice to Management

Take a hard look at how to improve work/life balance and replacing managers who don't treat their staff with respect. People don't leave a company, they leave poor management.

I have been working at Pattern Energy Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Humanized environment, ability to express interest in projects & opportunity to participate in them. Family and welfare are important to the leadership team. Flex hours/remote working is being discussed as options, though not adopted company wide. Very entrepreneurial feel, not too structured.

    Cons

Minimal structured training/guidance. Lots of on-the job training, and self-discovery/question asking but that's never a bad thing. I hear Ops is great with training, and that the corporate side is getting more of a focus on it soon. Need to be outgoing & proactive person to get to know colleagues, but everyone is very friendly once you say hi.

    Advice to Management

communicate more about the initiatives occurring in each department, and explain how all the departments work together.
