I have been working at Phoenix Technology Services full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Best training in the business, Competitive pay and Managent really has our best interest in mind. Room for advancment!

    Cons

Lots of work but hey....that's the oil field!

    Advice to Management

I would say keep it up! I have a manager in the Permian that does monthly meetings with everyone that wants to attend. It's a video conference and it gives everyone the opportunity to voice any concerns they are having. I really enjoy it and it always has a positive message

  2. "Great company if you are not looking to move up the progression from Field to Office."

I have been working at Phoenix Technology Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good equipment and tools, to go with some really good field hands running them.

    Cons

Don't look to promote from within...field employees never even got a notice when MWD Coordinator positions came open...which was prolly by design, because they hired from outside the company each time, instead of giving their loyal field hands an equal crack at it.

I worked at Phoenix Technology Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Easy job, some times you might get overtime

    Cons

Managers are insecure and scared to lose their jobs. They constantly put down people. Don't bring new ideas, and prepare to have them ignored if you do. Inflexible schedule...keep your head down. Some workers haven't had a raise in years.

    Advice to Management

Encourage people and stop the fear mentality. All the good people will leave you keep the inefficient workers and ensure your doom. Also stop the insider trading, everyone can see it on Google.

I have been working at Phoenix Technology Services full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great ideas, mediocre execution in them. Pay is middle of the road for this job. Great training.

    Cons

Support to the field is 50/50. Management is hit or miss.

    Advice to Management

Change the upper tier of management and your employees will be happier and actually stay.

I worked at Phoenix Technology Services full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The job is easy, just paper work and interactions with the lab techs. It's easy to maintain good relationships with the technicians and office staff.

    Cons

Emotionally unstable managers, with no leadership experience are allowed to manage. People are terminated if they trigger their managers insecurities by being high performers, or having goals outside of work. A lot of gossip going on...some people breeze by, anyone that doesn't conform will be let go. The more inefficient a manager is, the more they try to hang on to their jobs.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of dead weight managers, provide proper leadership training for new managers. Increase pay, everyone here is underpaid. Support ambitious employees, and get everyone involved. Try to avoid a lawsuit when you can.

    Pros

Great company to work for. Big enough to offer the resources you need to perform at a high level but they still create a family/team atmosphere.

    Cons

I don't have many cons other than at times some of the reporting seems redundant.

    Advice to Management

Don't lose that family first mentality and keep doing what you're doing

    Pros

Phoenix at times has offered very competitive compensation. Many employees work there for many years.

    Cons

In my experience Phoenix was not able to handle market fluctuations well.

    Advice to Management

Continue to offer and improve upon offering competitive pay rates for your employees.

I have been working at Phoenix Technology Services full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good overtime, exceptional on the job training, good benefits, supervisor willing to work with you to alleviate workload if necessary. This company expects results and as long as you show initiative and a strong work ethic they’ll keep you around.

    Cons

Spending less time with family, if told one thing don’t expect for it to happen right away, because this is the oil and gas industry the job market goes up and down so brace for anything to happen to your job status at any given moment.
