I worked at Ply Gem full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I learned how to put together and take apart windows, sliding glass doors, and screens. Overtime was available and an early start (4 AM) made for an earlier end of day.

    Cons

Pay was below average with minimal room for advancement. Management has their favorites as with any workplace. Slows down after summer not enough hours.

    Advice to Management

Treat people like people and not production machines, I learned real quick people aren't plug and play even experienced individuals cost to train so why not just take care of the people you have?

I worked at Ply Gem full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The over time pay adds up quickly. Although the physical beating your body will take will cause you to question why you come into work everyday.

    Cons

The negativity is everywhere. No one wants to be there and you can tell at pretty much every turn.

    Advice to Management

I don't know what to say, other than the whole company should be automated and get rid of employees entirely which I think they will do there best to achieve as soon as possible.

    Pros

    Good Insurance with decent pay

    Cons

Too many leader at the upper level and too much favoritism with the managers. Rules only apply to certain employees in the same position.

    Advice to Management

Don't be so blatant with your favorites with in your department. Don't introduce your them as your favorites to visitors, especially in front of other employees within the same department. If you are writing up an employee for a violation be sure their teammates don't do the same thing on a daily basis without retribution.
Don't create situations that you know will cause resentment among your group when you are introducing tools that are designed to make everyone's job easier.
