Pros

People are incredibly intelligent and have all kinds of talents.

Cons

Where do I begin? PointRoll is a revolving door of employees. People come and go regularly, and the company does nothing to improve the conditions so people will stick around. They just laid off about 50 people and promised that it had nothing to do with revenue and that they were actively hiring. About a month has gone by and so far there are no new heads in ops. The disbursement of work among the regions is so uneven. Some teams are struggling to keep their heads above water while others are working at a comfortable rate. Sales will promise any unprofitable clients the world and still except ops to deliver in full, leaving no time to dedicate to the larger accounts that are worth the time. We've heard for the past year that this would be changing, but.. surprise, surprise... nothing has changed. PointRoll is all talk and no walk. If that sounds horrible to you, as it should, don't apply here.

Pros

PointRoll has exceptional employees with great work ethics. The technology is exciting and the clients are among the most high-profile in the world. To an extent, there is also tremendous opportunity for advancement (but only to a certain level). I have seen people hired in entry level positions move into team leads and managerial positions in a matter of months. I have also seen people, young people, gain massive amounts of valuable experience. The vast majority of the employees are competent, hardworking and try hard to do a great job. The people are the best reason to work for PointRoll.

Cons

Simply: it's a sweatshop. A ten hour day is expected. Many employees in the operations group work 12-14 hours in a day on a regular basis. Weekend work is also *expected* when necessary. While this amount of work is the nature of the beast for the industry, when one considers that PRs profit margins are between 40-47% and when one considers the abysmal pay structure for line employees, it is an embarrassment. PointRoll is run like a start-up and the employees are paid like they're working for one... without the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Intimidation is a key tool in Management's arsenal. Disagreement--or even well though out alternate opinions--is not tolerated and typically met with nasty emails sent in the middle of the night. "You're lucky to be working here" is management's mantra. Most disturbingly, when employees choose to leave on their own, they are frequently harassed and even (yes) threatened by Sr. Management. When you leave PointRoll, you are dead to PointRoll.

Pros

Great space to work in, some fun people

Cons

- Senior Management has no vision for the future - Growth through staff reduction, does that ever work? - No remaining technical tribal knowledge - Digital team is the only one keeping the customers happy - CEO needs to have run a smaller company before running PR into the ground
