Pros

The people - peers, first-level managers, senior managers, directors are wonderful people to work with. There will always be exceptions but overall the people are great to work with. Company is focused on innovation and new products. The economics of the industry and market demands this and Power Integrations has been successful in delivering innovative products. Credit must be given to the entire company for the successful execution of truly revolutionary products. Excellent pay and benefits for employees. One of the best benefits packages in analog/semiconductor industry. The CEO truly cares about employee welfare and is one of nicest and most approachable person you will meet.

Cons

Incredibly suffocating "Top-down" management style practiced by VP's. Employees don't feel empowered anymore and every decision is questioned, analyzed and dissected by management to the point where things stall. The same employees are then questioned by said VP's and are surprised when there are delays. VP's think they know best for every engineering decision, right down to the daily operational details which makes it a frustrating work environment. Not a fulfilling or satisfying place to work when you can't do the job you are hired to do without being questioned every step of the way. Unrealistic timelines are set for projects. Every human resource (engineers, tech, managers, directors) is juggling multiple projects yet senior management is surprised when there are delays or when they are explained the amount of work needed to successfully execute a complicated task. No career progression plan for employees. If you end up working for the wrong manager, your career may stall. This is not often the fault of your manager rather the problem can be easily traced upward to the VP of each functional group.

Pros

Decent benefits and used to be nice so giving 2 starts.

Cons

Used to be good company with decent benefits and average pay. After pandemic everything went south, no flexible hours/days (full time 5 days/week), many key people left either due to non flexible work environment or great resignation. Hard to find new people, whoever join will obviously take time before contributing fully, going away from Quality focus and only chasing dates.

Pros

1. Technical skills growth 2. Lab is well supplied 3. Market share continues to increase. 4. Ready for sustainable future electronics.

Cons

1. Superficial relationships if you do not belong to a majority ethnic group. 2. Micromanagement comes from the top and it trickles all the way to the bottom. 3. First thing done to fill-in a job role is to bring engineers from Asia. They like keeping a good stock of H1-B engineers so that they remain loyal to the company with the hopes of one day getting permanent residency (spoiler: doesn’t happen and it hasn’t happen for even management that have been there for years) 4. 401K fee is passed on to employee 5. Vision insurance is the worst from most semiconductor companies The CEO shoots down suggestions that he doesn’t understand. For example, when asked how data science can help optimization of power module performance, he gave the good ‘ol “software doesn’t solve every problem, we’ve been doing good without software” argument.
