Pros

- Rare but good in-person events in some great venues, a good opportunity to network and get together with the team - Cooperative colleagues who collaborate, and are supportive and work as a team - Fully remote working

Cons

- Toxic and hostile CEO: Frequent behaviour is exhibited such as dishonesty and aggression. There is a lot of interpersonal drama caused by the CEO through aggressive communication, gossiping and bullying. Employees are often penalised by the CEO if something out of their control goes wrong with the business. - A strong lack of clarity regarding roles, responsibilities, chain of command, and hierarchy. - A strong culture of bullying and harassment: Predominantly caused by the CEO, there have been incidents of discrimination including Ageism and Misogyny exhibited by the CEO. - Incredibly high turnover because of the toxic work environment. - Be wary as there's evidence to suggest the CEO writes a lot of fake reviews for Glassdoor, indicating the company is overwhelmingly positive, the CEO also encourages other members of the team to write fake reviews to boost the Glassdoor score.

Pros

Remote working and lovely learners and interesting courses

Cons

The CEO is bad. He's not good at his job and he is cruel. My longer suffering coworkers say he often tries to hurt his own company when it starts doing well. Our data scientist who left recently wasn't here for five years, so it seems the CEO probably wrote the April 29th review probably using his son's Glassdoor account. It's really not fast-paced here. The CEO confuses activity with productivity. He jumps in randomly without any plan and just gets in the way. He treats people awful. He cant be trusted and he even lies to clients and about colleagues. He has destroyed my mental health and that of others and makes people want to quit, just look at the staff turnover, check LinkedIn. If you don't believe the bad reviews, talk to anyone who used to work here. CHOOSE LITERALLY ANYONE He's more than a bully he is cruel. He even used his knowledge of a disabled employee to wage a campaign to make his life as difficult as he could. Evil. The other reviews are right. He's more than awful. He's dangerous.

We have had several reviews along this theme. This one is purported to be from a data scientist who currently works at the company, but our data scientist posted a very positive review on 29 April. So this post is simply malicious, which is a shame - one of the downfalls of sites like this. Please see our reply to the post dated 16 May 2024.

Pros

I had the privilege of working with one of the most capable and committed teams I have encountered in over 20 years in apprenticeship provision. The tutors, Data Analysts, Business Development staff and support teams were highly skilled, collaborative, and genuinely passionate about both the data and the learners they supported. Many individuals within the organisation demonstrate real integrity and dedication to improving outcomes for apprentices,....it was a pleasure working alongside people who cared deeply about their work and showed so much talent.

Cons

Unfortunately, the strengths of the wider team were consistently overshadowed by a toxic leadership culture driven from the top of the organisation. The CEO’s leadership style created an environment where many staff felt significant pressure and instability. Priorities shifted frequently, if not daily, and often appeared to be driven by personal ambitions and projects rather than the organisation’s core mission of delivering high-quality apprenticeships. Senior staff regularly found themselves trying to shield teams from unrealistic expectations and constantly changing demands. This environment resulted in very high staff turnover. During my time with the company, more than a dozen colleagues left within a 12-month period, and from conversations with longer-serving staff this appeared to be an ongoing pattern rather than a temporary issue. Many highly capable and experienced professionals chose to leave because the working environment had become unsustainable. A further challenge is that the current senior leadership team appears to consist largely of individuals who do not challenge the CEO’s direction. He surrounds himself by 'ye people'. This lack of constructive challenge reinforces the existing culture and makes meaningful change extremely unlikely, which contributes further to the ongoing loss of talented and experienced staff. There also appears to be a disconnect between the organisation’s core activity and the CEO’s view of the business. Despite relying entirely on government-funded apprenticeships for its income, the CEO strongly resisted referring to the company as a training or apprenticeship provider, creating confusion about strategy and purpose and devaluing apprenticeships' and their contribution to skills within the sector, Staff were frequently expected to work excessive hour, often well beyond a normal working week, in pursuit of constantly evolving priorities and projects that severally detracted from the organisations primary purpose, developing skills as well as the teams ability to fulfill this. It is a real shame, as the organisation employed many talented people who genuinely care about learners. However, the leadership culture ultimately drives many of those people away and are still hemorrhaging staff as a result.
