I have been working at Prospect Capital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

An open culture where results are recognized and rewarded. Employees have the ability to work on projects where their skills are best suited, alongside exposure to management. Senior professionals have access to some of the best credit opportunities in the business.

    Cons

Less structured divisions than large organizations. Dealflow can cause high expectations and long hours.

I worked at Prospect Capital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Only work here if you have no other options.

    Cons

Non-stop micromanaging, unprofessional, out of touch senior management who don't honor their agreements. Equipment is old, working conditions for mid-level and lower mangement are crowded, and run down.

    Advice to Management

Learn how to treat your employees like professionals instead of children who need constant micromanaging. Keep your word regarding hiring agreements and get rid of toxic outdated policies like 360 reviews.

I worked at Prospect Capital full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good people at the mid to junior levels who manage to maintain a good camaraderie while being forced to live in the trenches together. This helps to ease the pain of the overall culture which is set at the top.

    Cons

Terrible senior management who can't be trusted. Very hypocritical and narcissistic. Reward "loyalty" by forcing coworkers to rat out one another. Overall toxic environment.

    Neutral Outlook

I worked at Prospect Capital as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Was given a lot of responsibility and had to keep up to date with current events in the tax world.

    Cons

One con was that there was a lot of work put onto myself and the other intern. At many times there would be fifteen very lengthy tasks given to me and I was expected to finish them quickly and stay as late as necessary.

    Advice to Management

My advice to management would be to guide interns through the work and then give them the freedom to do the task on their own. I would stress guidance first.
