Pros

Not having to worry about getting dragged into HR if you used the wrong pronouns by accident was nice.

Cons

Regardless of how many hours you work, or how many goals you "exceed" expectations, you are just a number. They promise no massive layoffs ever again but there have been multiple. The most insulting thing is being considered a great employee and out of the blue be let go with minimal notice to gather your thoughts, and being sent on your way with ONE pay period severance!!

Ineffective Leadership, Strategic Missteps, and Lack of Market Demand

Pros

In the early days, there was a strong sense of belonging and a shared mission among the team. Most employees had the flexibility to work remotely, which created a supportive work environment. Many managers and senior individual contributors received above-average salaries, reflecting the value placed on their roles. Throughout my time there, I encountered many genuinely good people, which made the experience even more positive.

Cons

In the end, many promises were not fulfilled, whether related to stock options, bonuses, or job security. The company’s business model appears unstable, with minimal demand for its products and excessively high marketing and operational expenses. Individuals considering joining from other organizations may want to carefully evaluate the potential impact on their professional reputation and job stability. Leadership seemed more focused on personal reputation and political maneuvering than on cultivating a sustainable and supportive company culture. Employees were often let go in multiple rounds of layoffs, regardless of their contributions or performance. Despite presenting itself as a "values-based" organization, the internal culture did not align with this image. Many employees were dismissed without acknowledgment, creating confusion within teams. Additionally, the company’s reputation among vendors seems less than favorable.

Pros

Shared purpose and vision. Overall a positive work environment at first.

Cons

Expected to work and be on call at all hours. No work-life balance. Poor communication. Was only ever given very positive feedback and then was let go without warning or valid reasoning.
