I have been working at Pulmatrix full-time

    Pros

Personal growth is good, you can take on as much as you want and have the freedom to plan your own schedule usually.

    Cons

Salaries are low for the industry. Direction can be un-focused at times.

I have been working at Pulmatrix (More than a year)

    Pros

    The schedule is pretty flexible

    Cons

poor management, very low pay, low moral

    Advice to Management

Treat employees like people. Upper management should direct lower managers more.

    Positive Outlook

I worked at Pulmatrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Had some fun events (aka food) for random occasions like Chinese New Year and Pi Day
People are generally very nice and courteous to one another

    Cons

No room for growth if you're at the bottom and no one really recognizes the little people. Middle and top levels just keep moving up.
Hard to take on new roles and grow because they just want the little people to do their sole task 24/7

    Advice to Management

Take time to grow your employees, especially the bottom level

10 years and still a start up

I worked at Pulmatrix full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Creative, agile management; stocked kitchen to keep employees fueled up; dynamic CEO; lots of opportunity for staff to mingle across career bands; excellent growth opportunities.

    Cons

The typical startup concerns over funding or change in focus and their effect on staffing needs.

I worked at Pulmatrix full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good benefits including health and time off. Nice bright office and lab space. Easy parking close to office and access to highways.

    Cons

Another VC backed company hoping to get lucky rather than produce something great. Somewhat phony feeling work environment and little respect from top down.

    Advice to Management

Get to know the worker bees and try to encourage growth in not only skills but responsibility. The Boston biotech industry/community is small and very closed to outsiders; try to be more open to new ideas and people.
