I worked at Qualex part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Amazing coworkers and a pretty decent tan. Also the pride you feel when photos come out well.

    Cons

    - 10 hour shifts with one 30 minute break (Breaking labor laws?)
    - Bi weekly pay; low wages
    - Can be competitive and strenuous
    - People were afraid of the boss. Not in a positive way. Gets in the way.

    Advice to Management

Treat your employees with more respect. If you keep taking your bad mood out on them, cursing and acting like they are stupid then they will be afraid to ask for any help. Most are just kids at their first job.

    Pros

A dynamic job that doesn't stay monotonous for too long and is also great experience for photographers and lazy people.

    Cons

Sometimes there is some miss communication between the manager, team leads, and the associates which leads to the manager aggressively yelling at employees.

    Advice to Management

Statistically, a business is usually more productive (by around twenty percent) when there is better communication between the manager and employees. Communicating effectively increases the rate of happy employees.

    Pros

Employees work hard and are very loyal. Very casual and open. Good teamwork and not much politics. Most promotions based on what you accomplished, not who you know.

    Cons

Industry changes have a negative impact and Kodak not willing to make investments to stay competitive. Qualex not really part of Kodak's strategy

    Advice to Management

Take risks. Be quick to seize opportunities. Thinks outside the box. Make changes quickly or be too late to the party

    Pros

medical benefits were great, they gave you business cards that say 'manager' on it, helping out customers was always a plus

    Cons

pay was low and salary, always worked long hours so actual pay per hour was lower than minimum wage, advancement potential was very limited. If someone didn't show for their shift you had to work it and was never paid for it or rewarded in any way.

    Advice to Management

Increase the pay, otherwise the quality of employee you get is negligible. Reward superior performance with higher pay not just a pat on the back.
