I have been working at Questrade full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Somewhat relaxed atmosphere. A good place to start if you are new to financial industry. The employee discount on commission trading is probably best in the industry.

    Cons

High employee turnover. No clearly defined career path for employees. Lower level managers (from senior down) and a couple of directors poor people skills.

    Advice to Management

If you want better employee engagement, then the managers should start acting like leaders and inspire and nurture leadership in their charges. There is a lot of talk about leadership but no action, at least not positive action that will encourage employees to engage in a meaningful way.

The people are AMAZING. It's a great learning environment - your role has a large scope and everyone is approachable across levels and departments.

    Cons

Some perceptions of passing the blame, although not company wide.

Continue to focus on more transparency and communication.

    Pros

    - Questrade is definitely a place for young people just starting their careers. It's all exciting in the beginning until you realize you're taken for granted.

    - Nice office space

    - Pizza Lunches

    - Amazing talented people who are not being acknowledged/recognized

    Cons

    - Not valued and are expected to work harder, take on more responsibilities and be okay with just a pat on the back.

    - There is a lack of transparency from the senior management team

    - High turnover

    - Employee dissatisfaction across the company

    Advice to Management

The organic company culture that once was, no longer exists and most of the people I know there, can't wait to get out.

Advise to management- take care of your employees, invest in them and they will be loyal.
